• It was almost christmas in the time when I used to work in a card shop. A grandmother came in with her grand-daughter (about 7 or 8) and her grandson (about 3 or 4). Because I got paid to be festive around these times I asked the girl what she asked Santa Claus for this year. She said "I asked for a nice present for my little brother". I thought that made my christmas.
• I was out one night and a drunk man knocked my drink off a table and insisted on buying me a new one. He got me a double as well. This seemed really lovely at the time but I think that in the longrun it would've been better if he hadn't bothered...
• My friend Lorcan plays on the uni water-polo team and he was in charge of the team kit for an away game in Stirling. He left the kit in Stirling accidentally and his captain was going to make him go back the following day to get it. It was going to be a really complicated journey with lots of swapping trains and catching buses so a guy I know from physics, who heard about Lorcan's ordeal, offered to drive him there. Stirling is a long way away, I was so impressed by this act of kindness. I hadn't offered to drive him though haha...

I really wish this list was longer.
