- 1. Prepare protective barriers (gloves + breathing barriers.
- 2. Check the scene, obtain consent, call 911 IF NECESSARY.
- 3. INTERVIEW (Introduce yourself):

- Do you feel PAIN?
- ALLERIES?
- MEDICAL CONDITIONS?
- MEDICATIONS?
- Last time EAT/DRINK?
- 4. Check person head to toe (child is TOE to HEAD).
- VISUAL inspect the body.
- Tell the person what you are going to do.
- Look for obvious deformities/bleeding.
- Medical ID bracelets.
- 5. HEAD:
- Scalp, eyes, ears, nose, PALPITATE HEAD, bruises.
- Drowsy?
- 6. Check SKIN and TEMPERATURE.
- 7. NECK:
- Ask if there is pain, then have them slowly move it.
- 8. SHOULDERS:
- 9. CHEST and ABDOMEN:
- 10. ARMS:
- 11. HIPS and LEGS:
- 12. CARE FOR CONDITIONS FOUND (or help them up)
- Keep comfortable.
- Reassure.
- Blanket.
