• I was born somehwere in California sometime in the early 60s, I think, I can't remember
  • I was dropped on me head as a baby from the 2nd story window so maybe that's why
  • Some of me favorite hobbies as a kid were drawing, watching cartoons, and playing with tiny animals
  • I was once a pirate for Halloween and that's when me life changed forever
  • I never took that costume off, i started using pirate words and doing other pirate stuff
  • Once when I was 7 years old, me mother took me to the beach and I found a moderately sized egg on the shore, I thought it was neat and decided to take it home. The egg would soon become me best friend in the whole wide world, Potty! Me mother was fine with me keepin him
  • Unfortunately, one of me pirate hobbies was plundering. This got me into some serious trouble and I got me keester kicked out of school when I was 11 years old
  • I then had to be homeschooled by me mother for the next few years of me life
  • when i was 14 years old i started listening to some classic rock, psychedelic rock, experimental rock, and a coupla sea shanties
  • My love for cartoons and drawing also grew (I had a lot of time on me hands) and I decided to become an animator
  • When I was 18 years old I got into a huge fight with me mother about keeping up the whole pirate schtick into adulthood, but I didn't care. I packed me bags, took me piggy bank with around $300 inside, headed out the door to become a full time animator with Potty tagging along behind me, and we were off to face the world
  • The first thing we did was head to the beach where we built a ship on wheels out of the driftwood that washed up on the beach so we could get around the country easily
  • We went to pretty much every animation studio in America at the time and they all turned us down, apparently having a full grown man who thinks he's a pirate create his own cartoon for children was considered unethical. Also me drawings kinda sucked.
  • Eventually I gave up me pursuit for an animation career and decided to go with me second favorite hobby, music!
  • Same thing, nobody wants to listen to a "deranged pirate man"
  • We had no place to go, those cold nights were some of the worst moments of me entire life, at least Potty was there to keep me company
  • Eventually we ran out of cash and I had to take up various odd jobs at places around the area, such as the local Wendy's, the Old Navy, and the museum. I ended up getting fired from all of them because the managers said I was too dangerous for the children
  • It got so bad that at one point I gave up one of me hands and one of me legs to some guy I met on the streets just so I could afford a condo to live in (I never gave up an eye, I just wear the eye patch for show)
  • We had to keep it low for a while and I had nothing else better to do but sit on the couch all day and watch some TV. Even Potty thought I was a failure
  • One day however, I was flipping through the channels and I stumbled across the show that would change me life for the better, it was Spongebob
  • It was unlike anything I had ever seen before, from its characters, to its humor, to its stories, everything about it was amazing. The nautical setting and themes really resonated within me crusty pirate soul. Pretty soon I was watching it all day, everyday. It gave me a reason to get out of bed in the morning
  • When word leaped to me about the show's massive and increasing popularity amongst both kids and adults alike, that's when I got the idea. I went downtown to the REC center and started the precursor to the Spongebob Squarepants Fan Club
  • It started off small, but overtime it got HUGE. pretty soon everyone in the whole town was showing up to the club on a weekly basis. It was great, it made me feel like me life had purpose again
  • Then one faithful day, a man with a suit walked up to me in the middle of a club meeting and asked me, "do you run this here club?" I responded with a simple yes, and then he offered me a propostion that almost made me jump out of me pirate costume
  • The man was apparently a Nickelodeon executive, he told me that the fan club had garnered underground success status at Nickelodeon Headquarters! And asked me to go out to New York and start working for them as the president of the Official Spongebob Squarepants Fan Club. Naturally, I obliged
  • Except New York was scary to me, I wanted to stay here in California. They were perfectly flexible with it.
  • With that, they gave me enough money to purchase a permenant home in Encino for Potty and I to live in, and it was also where club meetings were held.
  • Both Nickelodeon and the kids loved me personality, it was essentially me dream job
  • i didn't give up the drawing or music stuff either! I tend to draw in me spare time and with all the friends I've made over the years (thanks to me position as club president and all), I formed me own band, Patchy The Pirate and The Hearties!
  • Almost 20 years later and I'm still living me dream each day, and I couldn't be any happier with me life
