- Unplug cell phone chargers when not in use
- Purchase only non-toxic markers and refillable pens
- Purchase notebooks, binders, and file folders made from postconsumer recycled materials
- Avoid all products made with PVC
- Purchase tape in dispensers made from recycled plastic
- Purchase envelopes made from recycled paper
- Purchase reusable shopping bags, or reuse paper bags
- Purchase clothing made from 100% organic cotton when possible
- Purchase shoes made from post consumer recycled materials when possible
- Purchase rechargeable batteries
- Use cotton balls made from 100% cotton, and swabs with rolled paper spindles, instead of plastic spindles
- For candles, use only those made from soy and beeswax
- Purchase LED decorative lights, instead of glass bulb lights
- Purchase shampoo and conditioner that are sold in bottles made from post consumer recycled plastic (like Burt's Bees!)
- Purchase eyeliner pencils encased in wood, as opposed to plastic
- Use demi-permanent hair dye made with plant-based pigments, rather than permanent dyes made with synthetic pigments
- Purchase mascara that comes without cardboard and plastic wrapping
- Purchase body mists and perfumes made from pure botanical ingredients
- Choose locally handmade bar soaps over liquid body washes, which are sold in plastic bottles
- Choose a non-aerosol shave gel
- Use a washcloth, loofah, or other natural sponge instead of nylon shower puffs
- Go paperless with bank and credit card statements
- Pay bills online to reduce paper waste
- Refrain from taking receipts from ATMs
