- Otherkin: non-physical identity as a non-human creature.
Branches of otherkin:
- Therian: Identifying more specifically as an earthen creature.
- Fictionkin: identifing as a fictional character or creature. They can also be non-Canon or vary from original canon.
- Mythkin: identifying as a mythical creature. Also containing branches such as godkin and angelkin.
- Theriomythic: a person who identifies as a mythical creature but has experiences more like a therian. Such as dragonkin who feel like basically a giant lizard.
Types of otherkin/therian
- suntherian: constantly in some type of shift but will fluctuate between more or less human.
- contherian: also constantly shifted but do not experience fluctuations.
- capricioustherian: Capricious means given to suddenly change in mood or behavior, so therfore the term describes a therian who suddenly can change from a human mindset to that of their theriotype, including sudden mental shifts. (term created by me, use if you want to)
- non-shifting: never or rarely experience shifts of any or all kintypes
Other terms.
- otherhearted/kith/synpath: identifying with a creature instead of as, having a deep integral bond with a certain creature without feeling you are one on a non-physical level.
- copinglink: not concidered otherkin but frequently share the community, one who chose their identity as a way to deal with mental health, trama, stress, etc.
- new terms -
- Spiritherian: ones whos identity as an earthen animal is partially or entirely supernatural in nature (ex. Spirit fox)
