- Mental shift (m-shift): where one takes on a mental state resembling that of their kintype(s)
- phantom shift (p-shift): when one feels limbs or aspects from their kintype(s) including but not limited to tails, ears, gills, scales, claws, etc.
- sensory shift: where ones senses change based on their kintype (improved scent in canines, improved hearing, etc.) I no longer frequently see this type of shift talked about, many theories exist to how it works.
- aura shifts: more towards spiritual kin, when one's aura changes to resemble the shape of their kintype(s)
- astral shift: often experienced during meditation, when one's astral form takes on the shape of their kin type. Often considered an out of body experience.
- physiological shifts: (often lumped with m-shifts) when one takes on postures or motions of their kintype(s). For example holding your hands as if they were paws but not feeling them as paws.
- cameo shift: when one experiences shifts as a creature they do not identify as.
