I'm uneducated in these areas but I LOVE
- theoretical creature physiology
- reasoning behind certain appearances (creatures, mutations, or whatever)
- attempting to rationalize set fantasy elements (fake diseases, social hierarchy, etc. etc.)
I can't write for shit but LOVE
- brainstorming "how X came to be" (werewolf turns, character ticks, scars, fun stuff)
- assisting writer/friend with WHUMP/angst ("X broke his leg" 'but what if that AND he had to crawl out of a river with it')
- assisting writer/friend with logical supernatural element introductions ("they find a monster in a church but idk how" 'church was containing old god, they disturbed it, see ref: Final Prayer')
example topics or whatever
- werewolves in general are fun af (unless they're the "POOF im a doggo now" kind)
- vampires are REALLY difficult to explain, depending on which lore, hence they're one of my least favorite "monsters"
- zombies actually pretty easy to justify
- mermaids would look much less human and would be carnivorous
- I had some ideas about explaining hanahaki
- some superpowers, X-Men and BNHA have a few that are fun to consider
