Noskov

  • edgy embodiment of apathetic depression
  • completely modern world, dirty cold Russian boy (maybe mutant universe if feelin spicy)
  • male, around 30
  • is probably aro but unsure
  • drab color palette (green eyes though ehh)
  • very bland personality
  • endgame: meets someone(s) that attempt to help, and make a bit of progress. but eventually ends up burning out and dying with a final thought of being disappointed with everything
  • slums it up around various cities in various countries
  • takes espionage work (under the table)
  • sometimes takes assassination work (under the table, usually poison or somethin low-key)
  • doesn't make ties to other people
  • gives fake names
  • doesn't have any motivation, direction, or purpose
  • likes vodka, probably an alcoholic
  • won't say "no" to anything offered to take really
  • scars on face from botched espionage job; N was hiding in a wall but was ratted out and promptly on the receiving end of a man knifing the wall
  • if in the mutant-verse, he can make slight alterations to the perception of himself. EG change his face/hair/body (not on mystique level, just subtle) and discourage people from looking at him (notice-me-not from HP kind of)

Taltos

  • edgy embodiment of deranged laughter vibes(?) or wrath idk
  • originally generic fantasy world (mage), but can be modernized however
  • endgame: gets defeated, eventual self-imposed isolation, outbursts infrequent and there's the occasional neutral benevolence (weary travelers needed warmth for the night - he lights a fire and fucks off). TLDR doesn't ever go "good", but quiets.
  • endgame2:?? finds out if he uses powers too much he starts burning from the inside out (burning/cramping, tastes ash). he may have inhuman power but his body is still mortal IRONY
  • male, early 20s when he acquired "power" (depending on world, powers might give him longevity)
  • excelled in studies, relationships, life generally
  • grew frustrated with everyone attempting to hold him back
  • grew resentful
  • realized that it wasn't so much the people holding him back, but the limitations of humans/mortality
  • yadda yadda hand waving
  • found a way to open communication with otherworldly beings (demon-ish)
  • his body passed out in a basement somewhere, his mind on Mr. Bones' Wild Ride
  • language / understanding barrier
  • "negotiations" were tense, completely silent (on the beings end), and very vague (physical demonstrations, literal hand waving, etc)
  • took a very long time for T to convey what he wanted and for the beings to decide on what to take
  • they said they'd be taking his humanity, he asked if his lifespan, physical health, appearance, sentience, or intelligence would be affected, they said no. he decided that was good enough
  • they had taken several emotions on the compassion spectrum
  • woke up in old couple's home, they found him passed out
  • in the absence of "humanity" emotions, anger grows
  • ends up burning down the entire building with the old couple inside, has a moment to realize that he feels no guilt (a la Torment of the Worgen)
  • true happiness is one of the emotions, has an unconscious tendency to laugh despite this as a cheap imitation

Zasunnak (zah-soon-nok)

  • edgy embodiment of anxiety / existential crisis
  • tribal / cyberpunk sort of combo world
  • endgame: sort of a "teen finding his place in the world". has the initial existential crisis, but eventually finds comfort with the mortal life he leads.
  • male, 18ish
  • from a shamanic tribe that serves as guardians of sacred areas
  • sacred areas are sites that possess remnants of the Old Gods
  • tribe has a small trace of their power in their blood (not enough to use, just enough to understand)
  • Z gets volunteered for a medical research program
  • Generic Evil Scientists attempted to attract a remnant of War (spirit of a spawn of an Old God sort of kind of) into Z's body (special blood needed for host)
  • but fucked up (which is good because War would have gone kaiju on their asses)and got a Warden instead (tldr a being that feels compelled to balance - destroys anything that gets out of control)
  • Z now the host of a Warden spirit
  • gets busted out by rebellion group
  • freaks out, partially transforms, and parkours out of a 3 story building like a chupacabra on fire
  • Warden needs to visit various points of power (the sacred areas) to harmonize(? I guess) their (also i guess) body/minds better
  • passes out on way, gets recognized as a Warden by a reclusive group (who leave healing water and get the fuck out of there)
  • Z mentally wakes long enough to make the Warden (who's driving currently) thank the group, does so by growing a rare herb for them
  • slorps up some black Old God Gloop from a sacred lake, feels a bit better
  • learns to communicate with Warden with mental images/sounds (its name is [grass rustling, rock clattering] more or less Rsshkah)
  • tons of mental conflict/anguish/existential/identity crises
  • Z can shapeshift into R's form (partially or full) at will, but it's an arduous and painful process
  • short term goal to find, maybe reunite, scattered tribe
  • medium term goal to shut down group trying to use Old God Gloop Power
  • long term goal of slorping up all the gloop and to remove it from the human equation entirely
  • lack of Old God power will most likely kill R, either immediately or slowly. neither know if it will also kill Z

Noan

  • edgy embodiment of true psychopathy; completely morally inept, but with no real ill intention
  • originally bnha OC
  • endgame: ???
  • unknown gender/age, but probably 15ish
  • dirty homeless trash child
  • is always either a smug little shit or "blank face" brain shutdown (they dont understand and try to drop the conversation or whatever)
  • their "quirk" is the entire Inception "seed planting" concept
  • example: civilian sitting on park bench by a duck pond, N plants the idea of "duck" into the civ's head. with the passage of time it grows, morphs, and festers uncontrollably until the next week civ comes back to the park to steal a duck that they HAD to have to gift as a pet to a distant relative. the unpredictability, ease of use (even accidentally), confusion it creates, and inability to directly link to N makes it dangerous
  • even if N were to be identified as the source of an idea, the target has already convinced themselves that it was their own idea through a gradual natural assimilation ("well I wouldn't have gone and stolen a duck if I didn't already love ducks, I've always kind of liked ducks, I think")
  • every time N plants an idea, a shadow (invisible) plant (or creature idk) spawns on the target. there can only be 1 idea and 1 critter per person
  • the critter will not harm the target, but if the target runs into N again, the critter will attack N
  • the temperament (and size) of the critter depends on the volatility of the idea. EG good ideas cultivate harmless critters, dark ideas cultivate dangerous critters
  • BUT PLOT TWIST - the "critters" only appeared after N unintentionally implanted an idea into themselves; "what are the consequences of my quirk?" evolved into "my quirk causes harm". so the critters are technically both real and not real, as it is a mental based quirk - the critters are now cemented as a factual side effect, however they cannot actually cause physical harm (though N will feel pain if they imagine it causes pain)
  • N has had no training and isn't often aware of implanting ideas; they only know based on the critters they see hanging onto other people. even then they do not know what was implanted or what the idea might have turned into
  • idea / critter average cultivation rate is a day, though both are potentially limitless, the base nature is usually established within 24 hours
  • always in the background, never a major character in anyone's story
  • at one point authorities linked a few N "victims", and realized that they're from one quirk. while this is being discussed N is just chilling in the background eating ice cream. no one notices and N doesn't care or say anything. then N just gets up and leaves before authorities conclude that they don't have an actual way of tracking the quirk or finding more info
