Why do people age regress?
- Age regression is primarily a coping mechanism. It can be used to minimise and cope with the effects of trauma, stress or anxiety.
How does it happen?
- Age regression can be voluntary or involuntary.
- With voluntary regression, the regressor chooses to enter their younger headspace on purpose, for relaxation, fun, and dealing with stress or negative emotions.
- Involuntary regression is less common. It usually happens as a response to extreme emotional distress.
