What happens when someone regresses?

Age regression can look very different! Some people regress to really young ages (infancy) and some to older ages (adolescence).

Most regressors have a "set age" they usually regress to (e.g., someone may always regress between 4 years old and 8 years old).

Some common regressing behaviours include:

• drawing & using colouring books
• watching animated shows and films
• reading children's books
• playing with dolls, stuffed animals, LEGO, etc.

What terminology do regressors use?

• Little : If you're "little" or "a little" it means you're a regressor!
• Feeling little/small/fuzzy : Other ways to say that you're currently regressing or starting to regress.
• Littlespace : What the childlike headspace is called.
• Big : If you're "big" that means you're not regressed. The opposite of little.
• Caregiver : A caregiver is someone, usually a trusted friend, partner or family member, who regularly takes care of the little (age regressor) when they're regressed. Shortened to CG .
• (Agere) Gear : All the items someone uses when they regress, e.g., stuffed animals, colouring pencils.
• Stuffie : Short form of "stuffed animal", commonly used by littles.
• Paci : Short form of "pacifier".

What is agere?

• AGERE is short for "age regression"
• When someone regresses, it means they revert to a younger headspace. They think, feel, and experience the world like a child.

What is agere NOT?

• it is not roleplay, acting, etc.
• It is not the same as age play or DDLG. Age regression is not a kink, sexual, or nsfw in any way.

How should I interact with a little?

• Be understanding. They're probably nervous to share this with you!
• If you want to be involved with their regression, let them know! Tell them that they can come to you.
• When regressed, treat them and talk to them like their current mental age! The same way you would treat someone who is physically that age.
• Many littles enjoy childlike nicknames from their loved ones like sweetheart, darling, little one, little boy/girl, kiddo, etc. Ask for permission first.

Why do people age regress?

• Age regression is primarily a coping mechanism . It can be used to minimise and cope with the effects of trauma, stress or anxiety.

How does it happen?

• Age regression can be voluntary or involuntary.
• With voluntary regression, the regressor chooses to enter their younger headspace on purpose, for relaxation, fun, and dealing with stress or negative emotions.
• Involuntary regression is less common. It usually happens as a response to extreme emotional distress.
