- 1976 - The most important year of my life, being that in which I was born.
- 1981 - I met Michael M., whom I loved desperately and hopelessly all through Kindergarten. He was the first in a series of unrequited loves.
- 1982 - I fought with Cory A., my first day at a new school. I had no idea at the time that she was the queen bee of my tiny class. I was a social pariah for the next six years.
- 1994 - I graduated from high school and promptly realized that I was totally unprepared and/or unwilling to deal with being a grown up.
- 1996 - I moved out on my own, by which I mean I moved into a series of increasingly smaller apartments in increasingly scarier neighborhoods.
- 1998 - I dropped out of college for the fourth and final time, totally unprepared and/or unwilling to act like a grown up.
- 2004 - My Aunt passed away and her young son came to live with my parents. I went from being the youngest to being a Big Sister, with an unlimited Torture-The-Little-Brother pass. I also provide Little Brother Vacation Getaways and Sisterly Advice.
- 2006 - I turned thirty and realized that I hadn't become the person that I thought I'd be, doing the things that, as a child, I'd imagined myself doing. And I discovered that I didn't mind that I wasn't that person because I'm happy in my life right now. This discovery sent me into a self-reflective spiral of wondering if something might be wrong with me because I was too unconcerned with success.
- 2008 - I broke up with someone else, lost my job and my apartment, and spent the entire year trying to put the pieces of my life back together.
- 2009 - I began dating the man I was going to marry. I'd known him for years and always had a tiny crush on him but every time we'd seen each other, I'd been in a relationship and I am a very well-behaved girlfriend.
- 2012 - J and I were married and suddenly, I was a wife, a stepmother, unemployed in the traditional sense but beginning three separate business ventures.
- 2013 - Currently, life is awesome.
