Without lists, I don't think I'd ever sort out my thoughts. This brain of mine never seems to rest and the things that run through it reflect the beats in my chest...

  • I believe that everyone -- including myself -- is a little odd in their own way, which is what makes each individual person so awesome...in their own way.
  • I believe that the attitude you have is what will define your life. Keeping a positive attitude as much as possible really can make your life easier and more pleasant to live.
  • I'm careful about gifts or objects that are handed to me. This one could take awhile to explain and I'm not sure I want to bother explaining it. It does have something to do with the energy that people put into the universe, though.
  • If I blow through a yellow light while driving, I have to swipe the visor above my head. It's a compulsive behavior for me. I'm not really sure why or how it started, but I do it anyway.
  • I don't kill spiders indoors. It's bad luck...and it usually leads to more flying insects indoors. If I can, I will catch them and release them outside.
  • I try to pay attention to what I say out loud. I have my reasons.
  • Feeling something in your heart is a belief; not knowledge. Knowledge is not about feeling or believing that something exists. Knowledge is fact that can't be changed. Feelings are changeable. The strongest feelings, though, can sometimes become knowledge. ... Like when you unconditionally and irrevocably love someone, for instance. No matter what circumstances surround the relationship between you and the person you love, nothing can change how you feel and nothing matters more than loving that person enough to care that they are happy and safe, even if they aren't with you.
  • I believe that of all the religions I have researched, they all have their pros and cons, but the overall message of each of them is relatively similar. To me, it means love. Unity and love are what's most important to me, though, so I suppose that's what I would take from any religion.
  • Our life experiences are what shape us. It makes us weak or it makes us strong, depending on how you see the world and life as a whole. When something bad happens, you can either stand up tall and deal with it until things get better, or you can lay down and give up until you wither away to nothing (or in some cases, stick your head in the sand and pretend nothing happened until something bites you in the ass.) It isn't necessarily God that helps you through the rough times nor does God necessarily cause the bad things to happen. You have the power and the knowledge and the feelings in your heart to either pull yourself through or struggle for the remainder of your days on Earth. Everyone has to experience dark times because struggling is part of life...struggling is the best way to learn. What you learn and how you use that knowledge and the feelings you get from being in those struggles defines who you become. When I've struggled, I also learned to appreciate good and happiness and love ten times more. While I always feel there is room for improvement in my life, I'm grateful that I have a life at all, no matter how great or small it might seem.
    • 10/8/10 - Today, I read a quote that fits along with this quite well: "You don't realize how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have." Even then, a lot of times, you don't realize your own strength until the pain becomes a memory. By that point, you can look back on the hard times thinking, "How did I get through that?" When you start remembering those struggles, you might realize your strength. That strength will help carry you through until you take your last breath.
  • I think that telling someone you believe in them isn't just a way of saying "You can do whatever you put your mind to do as long as your heart is in it and I'll be there to back you up every step of the way to achieving your dreams." It's another way of letting someone know how much you love them.
