- 1980s: Whatever my mom put me in...usually fashionable, but very inspired by the style & music of artists such as Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter or Creedence Clearwater Revival. She made me wear bell bottoms, ruffly plaid shirts and boots...sometimes a denim skirt and white straw "cowgirl" hat. I fought tooth and nail against the bell bottoms, but go figure... what do I wear now??? Flared leg, AKA bell bottoms. When I started school, though, she started dressing me a little more like my aunt and an older cousin who were both in high school at the time. They were big on the leggings with tunics, skirts and jelly shoes.
- early 1990s: Hip-hop inspired attire (i.e. baggy jeans, tight shirt, sneaks, high side ponytail and "The Wave." I also had a perm at one point...not that I needed it. I have naturally curly hair.)
- mid 1990s: "Grunge" (Holy jeans, band t-shirts, flannel shirts, Converse tennis shoes that were written all over, hair straight and parted in the middle...cut in a bob-style that was all one length.)
- late 1990s: I'm not sure what it was called exactly, but I'll call it disco-raver...Vinyl pants and a sparkly-silver shirt or a baby tee and baggy jeans with a hoodie...usually with a studded collar and a backpack...I was very much into Marylin Manson and Ministry then. My hair was really short...and bleached blond at one point. I usually wore Dr. Marten's boots, vinyl Airwalk skate shoes, my old converse or these blue suede running shoes that I can't remember the brand of...they might have been K-Swiss or Asics or something...they were awesome and I miss them.
- 2000s: Comfy but stylish.
