Pros:

My current situation is merely OK

• These are not "my people."
• There is no sense of continuity or community.
• There are two unknown entities moving in soon.
• Property manager doesn't DO anything, sits around all day, and lives off my rent.

The "oasis" is AMAZING

• Hippies!
• Fruit trees galore; crazy veggies in the garden for the eating.
• CHICKENS!
• It was advertised to have a yoga platform. In fact, it's geodesic dome madness! Wow. Seriously, it feels like the mothership.
• My kind of people; they have TED talk potlucks. Very friendly kitchen.
• $100/month rent reduction
• One housemate is a masseuse.
• The property is not so wee, or rather FRICKIN HUGE. It's on three normal sized house lots.
• Their relationship to other coops, and interesting people. Cool stuff going on at home as opposed to nothing ever.

Cons:

• Hippies.
• Moving is a pain in the ass.
• I may lose my $400 deposit.
• I would double my current commute (could be a good thing?).
  • My current commute.
  • My potential future commute. I risk my life each day either way . . .
• 5 hours work / week in garden (could be a good thing?).
• Slightly more scared of bringing faculty over for party (i.e. hippie sketch factor?).
• Farther from the beach (Pro: closer to highway).
• Loss of the grand piano.
• Bedroom is a bit smaller than current one.
• One housemate has a 7 year old, so no crazy parties (could be a good thing?)
