• Trapeze instructor Mandy (from Cleveland wedding) knows and has instructed my current Psych 1 student.
  • Same psych 1 student sees Ken Robinson's book on my shelf, and invites me to be a volunteer at the freedom awards, an event (at which he'll be speaking, and) that I had been contemplating trying to sneak into.
• Erik (from Cleveland wedding) tells me about his research area, which I identify as being the same physics subfield as Doron, who told me about his research once about 5 years ago at UCSB Hillel. They work together.
  • Nobel prize winners in physics this year win for an experiment that Erik described to me on the plane (using scotch tape to make graphene. Awesome.)

Pros:

My current situation is merely OK

• These are not "my people."
• There is no sense of continuity or community.
• There are two unknown entities moving in soon.
• Property manager doesn't DO anything, sits around all day, and lives off my rent.

The "oasis" is AMAZING

• Hippies!
• Fruit trees galore; crazy veggies in the garden for the eating.

• It was advertised to have a yoga platform. In fact, it's geodesic dome madness! Wow. Seriously, it feels like the mothership.
