- fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood
- if i could recommend just one anime to anyone ever, it would be this. an incredibly balanced story that focuses on the elric brothers, and the secrets of alchemy. has drama, humor, politics (BOY does it have Politics), family, mystery. completed.
- needs slightly more commitment than everything else in this list, because it's kind of long and gets very heavy in parts. allocate a few hours of lying in bed staring at the ceiling after finishing for the first time. all worth it though!
- haikyuu!!
- a volleyball sports anime, one of the best in its genre. gorgeous animation, the entire cast is made up of Good Boyes, even the rival teams are friendly! very, very GV. no need for preexisting volleyball knowledge, they explain everything. in progress, but the ending of the last season is satisfying enough.
- mob psycho 100
- unique aesthetic, stunning animation, endearing characters, a simple but powerful story about a psychic boy coming to terms with his powers. season 2 coming out soon, but season 1 closes decently
- hyouka
- high school slice of life with a focus on mystery. the shortest and most feelgood in this list. rewatched this recently and it was better than i remembered.
