look at the things you are eating/drinking. many people drink too many cals-- gatorade, soda, juice, even milk. turn soda to diet soda, juice to reduced cal juice (minute maid makes some that are great), gatorade to diet versions that are similar or crystal light type drinks. try to exchange as much as possible for water. milk should be skim or 1% use high fiber bread like Aunt Millie's Light Fiber for Life Use lower car, lower cal tortillas like Carb Mission, Flatout Bread, etc. Eat 5 servings (about 1/2 cup each) of veggies every day (really fills you up!) Low fat, low sugar yogurt-- filling and sweet! Sugar free jello and 60 cal puddings (really helps the sweet tooth) Larger servings of lean meats to help keep your body fuller and less likely to overdo it on something else keep veggies cut up and ready to eat at any time popsecret or orville red. 100 cal popcorn-- a lifesaver for me, especially paired with 1/2 oz reduced fat sharp cheddar OR a laughing cow light cheese wedge OR sprinled with True Lime (a dehydrated lime juice sprinkle stuff that is SO good) good luck and I agree with the 2000-2500. probably 2500-3000 will be easier for you, keep you full, and still allow you to drop weight quickly. throw in some walking or chair exercises as your health/abilities allow.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
I agree with drinking a lot of water, as well as eating a lot of water-filled foods like fruits and vegetables. They're filling, low on calories, and will elp keep you well hydrated so you'll feel fuller and not be tempted to grab those potato chips.
Give it a try for a week and see if you can handle it. To really kick-start things, limit starches. Still eat your bread and potatoes, but try switching to whole grain or wheat bread.
As for exercise, I'd do the simple things. Grab a couple of soup cans and lift 'em. Maybe check out a pilates video (they've got a few on YouTube) and follow along. Adding the weights will help speed things up.
If at any time things start to not feel right, talk to your doctor. Best of luck to you. =)
