- I know how to swordfight.
- I was born with six fingers (on both hands). The doctors were freaking out because my mother had a very troublesome pregnancy.
- I am very, very partial to pens. I won't write something (essays, poems, journal entries, etc.) without the right type of pen.
- I have been taking photos since I was 12. It all started when my mother bought me a polaroid camera and we went to Walt Disney World.
- I am a late bloomer in a lot of ways. My first kiss was when I was 19.
- As a child, I would take apart my toys and try to fix them to their original state. But it never worked for I was five and didn't have the knowledge to fix them.
- In my pre-teens, I was fascinated by numbers and was, probably, good at math (didn't apply myself). I would count the letters in words and while listening the stereo in the living room, I would add or subtract the seconds together to match the number of the minutes. (ex. 3:47=3:4-7)
- I used to collect postcards.
- When I am walking down the sidewalk, I don't walk in a straight line. I walk diagonal. If I am walking with someone, I tend to move in close to them and eventually drive them off the sidewalk.
- My mother had me when she was 23. (which I still find insane. Cause in your 20's you really haven't solidified yourself.)
- I am ambidextrous when it comes to certain things like playing tennis, cutting with scissors, chopping, etc. If I practiced with my left, both hands would be legible. The left is still at five year old scribble.
- I really love art. I respond strongly to colors and patterns.(some people don't.) When I go to a museum, I usually go by myself and linger over pieces. I love Mark Rothko.
- While reading a magazine, I flip from the back to the front. Taught by my mother.
- I love being in bookstores and wasting time. I would listen to music and walk the stacks....pick out random books, magazines, poetry, and etc. and just start reading it there. My favorite bookstores: (CA) Half-Price Books (in Concord), Borders, Cody's, and City Light's. (NY) Strand, Barnes and Noble (both CA/NY), NYU Bookstore, and Mercer Street.
- I can tell whether or not a book is going to interest me by the first few pages. I did that with Middlesex, The Letters of Jack Kerouac (from 1940-1959), On Beauty, The Archivist, and The Laments. Those books made 2006 a good reading year.
- When I was 20, I used to be a "manager" for a heavy metal band called Anabuse. I had no clue what I was doing and was too square to do it. But it was my friend's band, so I decided to help.
- I can drive a stick (manual) shift. That is how I learned how to drive.
- I am a night person. My inspiration for writing, my critical thinking, or ideas come to me after 11pm. I don't get tired until 3 or 4am. Don't talk to me in the morning.
- I taught myself how to swim. Ever since then, I have been a swimmer and love, love, love the water. I surpassed my mother, who at the age of 47, still doesn't know how to swim.
- I had to hold two seats for Robert DeNiro and his wife at a premiere I was working at through my internship (LION'S GATE). I had to stand next to DeNiro's chair a good portion of the night. It was AWESOME!
- My first car was a Volkswagen Cabriolet 89'. It was silver with a black ragtop. I wish I took better care of it. Oh, regret.
- I really, really, really hate the word "panties". Especially when it is utter from the mouths of men. It sounds so pervert/pedophile-ish. it just gives me the creeps.
- I relax while I bake. It has something to do with creating something and being proud with the end results.
- I used to play soccer (or "football") and badminton. I miss doing both.
- I have theme music playing in my head while I am doing things, like walking down the street or riding the bus. I mostly blame it on being an only child and a film major.
- The oldest I ever dated was 31. ( I was 23.)He was a photographer.
- Never dated or kissed any guy that was the same race as me. My last boyfriend was white.
- I!LOVE!FACIAL!HAIR!ON!A!MAN! Everyone looks a hundred times hotter with facial hair. (prrrrr)
- I think a good sense of humor is really sexy. If you can make me laugh (which is not really all that hard), you're golden.
- I really like Toni Colette and would like to work with her one day.
