- i'm not otherkin or fictionkin, personally. i tossed the idea around, and i have experiences that would definitely "count" as kin by most peoples' definitions, but i came to the conclusion that labeling myself that way would only exacerbate my identity issues. thinking of my experiences in that way isn't helpful to me, so i don't do it.
- that being said, i don't mind if other people are kin! just pls don't drag me into drama about it
- while i'm okay with kin jokes/assigning kins/etc, please don't tell people that i'm kin? this has happened before, usually to my friends behind my back, and it makes me extremely uncomfortable.
- i am deeply uncomfortable with the trend of calling people "fakes" or otherwise implying that people are faking it. it reminds me too much of the homophobia, transphobia, and ableism i've faced irl. nobody gets to dictate other people's experiences. period. i cannot and will not budge on this.
- in a similar vein, i'm not discriminate about the kins of people i follow, so if you're uncomfortable with doubles, i'm probably not the guy to come to.
- these same general guidelines apply to fictives and people who identify as characters without adopting the kin label
- i'm not comfortable with people that kin real-life people (factkin). i don't think it's comparable to identity theft or whatever, but that doesn't mean i'm super on-board with being around it. it's nothing personal. sorry.
