- plug leaks along the seams and corners of gutters
- inspect windows for broken glass and screens -- clean screens
- inspect joints in ceramic tile and caulk around tubs and sinks
- inspect exposed wiring and cords for wear and fraying
- have heating and air conditioning systems serviced
- wash windows and clean window screens
- wash window coverings and shower curtain
- wash walls, door frames, window sills, and baseboards
- shampoo carpets and wax wood or tile floors
- have furniture cleaned and sprayed with protectant
- clean out closets, cabinets, and other storage areas
- clean under and behind large appliances
- wipe down cabinets, inside and out
- wipe down inside of refrigerator and defrost freezer
- clean the oven, burners, and stovetop
- DURING THE SUMMER
- inspect the roof for damage or loose shingles
- inspect the driveway and walkways for cracks and settling
- drain the water and sediment from hot water heater
- replace the water in hot water heater
- test the pressure valve on hot water heater
- check to make sure water heater vent is not blocked
- replace the filters in heating and air conditioning systems
- DURING THE WINTER
- oil door locks and hinges and tighten doorknob and hinge screws
- inspect the attic for pests (birds, rodents, insects)
- inspect around property for wasp nests and remove
- replace the filters in heating and air conditioning systems
