• The Lovely Bones: I loved this book, so I was pretty excited when I found out that there was a movie. I think Saoirse Ronan was a very good choice for Susie. She had that quiet, likable, personality down. Stanley Tucci was the perfect villain, and all of his scenes were very creepy and had me thinking that I might need to spend the night in my parents' room. The casting choices were very good, and overall I think the movie was a good adaptation.
  • The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: I will be honest, I didn't have high expectations for this movie because I didn't love the first one. However, I was so wrong. This movie was suspenseful, funny, and very real. Jennifer Lawrence is undeniably a wonderful actress, and her portrayal of Katniss makes Katniss relatable, funny, brave, and overall, doing what she has to do. The rest of the cast was also phenomenal. This movie was surprising and unpredictable. It is definitely worth your time.
  • About Time: I loved this movie. I loved this movie so much for reasons I cannot even express. All of the characters are so sweet and yet not too sweet. The love story is real and very believable. The only complaint I have is the fact that the time traveling doesn't really follow the rules, however, I think it works for this movie. This movie is such a wonderful celebration of a "normal" marriage. It also made me fall in love with gingers, but that was just gravy.
  • American Hustle: The first thing I noticed about this movie was its cast. It has an amazing cast full of wildly talented actors who each bring something different to the table. However, other than that, I don't totally see the appeal. It is a good movie, directed well, written well, and an amazing performance from Amy Adams. Overall, I think this movie was well acted, but not totally deserving of all the hype.
