- Visiting Ate Che in Lubbock and playing racquetball for the first time, watching Borat (and laughing our butts off... especially to Ate Che's shocked/wtf reaction), and looking for the best brownies made in that city
- Mountain biking somewhere with my sisters with a niiice view and seeing it rain in the distance
- Family Caribbean Cruise when I was 13 years old. LOTS of fun.
- Going to the Edgar Degas exhibit and seeing Evie look up at one of the paintings in awe and saying "wow"
- In middle school and high school, I would wake up to my dad singing on the karaoke machine. It was annoying to be woken up by his loud singing, but it made me happy at the same time that he was starting the day doing something he loved.
- Eating at that pizza restaurant when Ate told me the good news that she and Jeremiah were having their 1st baby!
- Being there with my sister and sister-in-law when they found out and announced (respectively) that they were pregnant
- Going to Coushatta for my 21st bday and Nanay's 84th(?) bday
- That one time Kira and I spent the night at Tita Dyna's house. It was nighttime and we had the giggles for a long time. I can't remember about what, but we really caught the laughing bug, lol.
- It's nice how sweet my extended family is. They do so much for me. Nanay was one of my biggest supporters. Tatay was, too. They really made me feel special. For example, Nanay sewed my Pocahontas outfit for the 4th/5th grade wax museum. Nanay always cooks pancite on people's birthdays. Tita Edna took us to our Kung Fu lessons and would take us to JCI or sonic afterwards. Tita Dyna is thoughtful without needing to be during birthdays/Christmas. Tito Toto is always so sweet. You know he cares.
- Getting asked to be a bridesmaid for TL and Liana's wedding. I was so surprised and how she asked was very cute/sweet (literally). She made me pickup some Hey Cupcake (I forgot the reason why she told me she needed it... maybe for her cousins or something? I can't remember) and when I opened it, it asked if I was going to be her bridesmaid. Weirdly, I cried - from shock and happiness. I rarely cry from just happiness. The only other time I remember crying from happiness is when I found out I passed by clinical exam to become an official registered pharmacist!
- Eating at Denny's after our piano lessons. Climbing the tree in front of Teltshik's house, which would worry my mom.
- Backstreet Boys and back to the 90s concert with my mom. My mom went with me to this concert that I won tickets to. It was a good concert!
- Pentatonix and Kelly Clarkson concert with my Mom at the Woodlands Pavilion Theater. They were both so good! I heard “Piece by Piece” for the first time from Kelly and it was so touching. I might have cried lol. Kind of sad that her and her husband divorced or are divorcing now but stuff happens.
- 2018 European Cruise Trip with my family and the Nguyen's was special. We did a lot of eating on the trip (of course)! I found that I really like prosciutto sandwiches and Venchi gelato has the best chocolate hazelnut gelato.. It blew my mind. Ava loved Europe’s seafood pasta. It was fun to see the live music in Piazza Navona and in front of the Pantheon. I loved seeing the blue light things fly in Piazza Navona even though I guess the item itself is kind of childish. I enjoyed seeing the violinist in Rome on the streets. It was fun just to get the tiny coffees closeby our AirBnB. There was this really cute nicely lit restaurant we’d pass by on many of our walks in Rome that seemed so romantic! Kind of fun just to imagine us possibly eating there.. we didn’t eat there, but it was nice just to pass by. The Colosseum was pretty amazing! In Florence, the Piazzale Michelangelo view of the city was amazing! I think it might have been my favorite part of the trip. The flowers at the flower market in Nice, France were so beautiful. I missed seeing the best view in Eze, but I was really impressed how my dad (and my mom, too, but especially my dad) hiked up the steep surfaces to get near the top of Eze! My dad was really proud of himself, too. Glad we chose that excursion to do in that city.. but it would also have been really cool to see Monaco. Jumping off the cliffs in Palma Majorca was a lot of fun! I was scared during each initial part of jumping, but it was definitely worth it. I jumped as high as 21 feet! What also made it not so scary was that the Nguyens were with me and we were wearing life jackets. Barcelona was great. The Sagrada Familia was absolutely beautiful and had a great view from the top! Park Guell was nice, too. The hot chocolate there was so thick and very different from American hot chocolate. Pairing that with churros was delicious. Positano was very pretty! It was scary being in the van driving around that mountainous area, though. We ate at a place in Sorrento, their seafood linguine was soooo good! Pompeii was really sad to see. We ended back in Rome and it was so great to end our trip seeing a pretty sunset overlooking the Vatican city.
- In 2020 or 2021, had a nice Chinese dinner (lobster, too, I think) at TL and Liana’s place to celebrate Bart and I’s engagement. Really, it was just a big dinner, but we jokingly said it was to celebrate the engagement. Was happy to have a nice meal with my family during Covid times.
- 2020 - for my 29th birthday, my mom and I ate at Coppa Osteria. Italian food was good. It was unique that they used tall candles on wax paper at our table. They also had a color changing straw for my frozen drink. That same weekend (I think), my mom and I went to the Color Factory. It was fun!
- For my 30th birthday, my family (except Ate Gen because she was overseas) visited my new place! It was during coronavirus so we did not do much, but I was happy to show them my place for the first time. My parents seemed to really like the place even though our actual living space isn’t that big. I was happy. I tried Terry Black’s BBQ for the first time.. next time they come it would be nice to take them to the Rainey St bars and for them to enjoy the pool and hot tub.
- Easter 2021 and Riley’s 1st birthday celebration in San Antonio. Ate Che n family, Mom, and I spent the Easter weekend at La Cantera. Riley couldn’t make it because her and her brother were sick. They have a gorgeous entrance to their spa and a nice hill view at their adults only pool. It was great to see my nephew and nieces. They are adorable, funny, and sweet. I liked how Hugo talks. If you ask him to say something, he’ll try to say it. Not sure why, but I thought it was especially cute when I asked him to say “huh?.” Ella is clever.. I got her and Evie some Frozen dolls. One of Olaf’s pieces of plastic hair fell out and Ella said that Olaf got a haircut and smiled lol. This was a short trip, but it was nice seeing family.
