- Cookies - Tiny's Milk and Cookies has THE best choco chip cookies
- Cookie cake - Great American Cookie Company. In elementary school, I always loved their cookie cake slice. That and Cinnabon was always something to look forward to when I went to my local mall.
- Cupcakes - Crave or Sprinkles. Hard to tell which is better!
- Frozen Yogurt - PinkBerry; I think Gen took me to my first PinkBerry. My favorite flavors are cookies and cream and chocolate hazelnut.
- Gelato - Venchi (Rome) has the best hazelnut gelato. Nothing else compares!!
- Gelato in the US - Amorino (Houston) and Dolce Neve(favorite in Austin). I love how Amorino has tons of flavors and sells macarons, too.
- Ice cream (vanilla) - Ici ice cream in Berkeley, CA. They had the best vanilla flavor I’ve ever had. So good! .. it’s 5/2021 and unfortunately I found out this ice cream place went out of business in 2018 after 12 years :(
- Ice cream - Amy’s or Marble Slab. As a kid, I always got chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips from Marble slab.. cold stone creamery is a good runner up. Their cheesecake fantasy icecream is great!
- Pancakes - Kerbey Lane cafe for cinnamon swirl pancake and Phoebe’s Diner (ATX) for chocolate chip pancake. The cinnamon swirl pancake at Kerbey Lane is basically a glazed donut in pancake form. So delicious.
- Shake - Shake Shack had the best seasonal shake ever. It was their brownie batter hot chocolate shake that came with mini marshmallows on top. I wish it were a permanent menu item
- Tapioca in Austin - Teahouse. Been to a lot of tapioca places but I’m not too picky. Teahouse’s tapioca balls are always sweet and never hard. Their Thai tea, Ube, and cookies and cream drinks are really good! One tapioca place I don’t like much is Kung Fu, because their tapioca balls have a weird floral taste.
- Tres Leches - Fogo de Chao and Pappasito's both have a great tres leches
