HIGH SCHOOL YEARS

  • When I would leave my Kia's lights on after parking at school (and my car did not not automatically turn them off) and then find my dead battery when I wanted to go back home from school and Abby (other friends too probably) would help me jumpstart my car.
  • When Ha did my makeup before one of the choir pop shows so I could impress a guy I liked
  • Thank you Daniel (my cousin) for taking me to school (and more than a few times I am sure I made us late! :| )
  • In either middle school and/or the beginning of high school, I remember Sister always listening to me vent.
  • I knew my girls had my back.
  • That one time it was Sylvia, Kira (I think), Brian Salinas (I think), and I and we were singing Wannabe or some other Spice Girls song really loud in a car
  • Fun board game (e.g. taboo, pictionary, mad gab) nights, movie nights, and baking (which occurred in college, too; that tri pi story at Abby and Michelle's first apartment was so funny. I laughed till I cried and that's rare)
  • Playing ninja at parties
  • Some days at school (usually if I didn’t get enough sleep and/or was too caffeinated), I would be super hyper (especially around Abby). I think I would joke that I was a zombie. My friends didn’t seem annoyed and Abby thought I was pretty funny from what I remember so that was nice. I’m sure I may have gotten annoying lol, but my friends put up with me!
  • I'm sure there are more times my high school crew was there for me, but I am 30 now... When I look look back on high school memories now, it’s a big blur.

COLLEGE YEARS

  • At the beginning of college, Thuy drew individual pics of each of PNTJAM and mailed it to us. Really thoughtful of her and sweet.
  • Michelle picking my girls and I up from Downtown Austin even though we were being a little loud and obnoxious while she was driving.
  • Abby driving me and our friends around the most during a lot of things (e.g. Fer's bachelorrette party)
  • Bart getting me a single multi-color pen to help motivate me to study. He was also like my 2nd mom because he helped make sure my assignments were done for my classes and that I did not nap too long or that I stayed awake all night to study because I needed to. We would go to UT’s library and stay there until early morning if we had to.. I honestly would have gotten a lower GPA if it weren’t for Bart.

PHARMACY SCHOOL YEARS

  • Fer cheering me up after I either did poorly in my class(es) at the time in pharmacy school and giving me a prayer that I can look at when I need help studying
  • Although in professional school, my mom would still ask me about my schoolwork.. she would do that a lot in high school, too. I would like to think that I was self motivated enough to succeed, but honestly, my mom bagged me so much about school even up to this point and I appreciated that. I wish she didn’t feel the need to remind me, but I am grateful for her support. Grateful for my dad’s support, too, and for both my parents making during I’m well fed.
  • Abby letting me stay at her place for a night(s) because it was closer to school. Less time driving = more time to study for important exam(s).
  • Tasha letting me crash at her place after one of Abby's birthday celebrations downtown.
  • That one time we went to Tasha's aunt's burger place in midtown with my high school friends because they were having an event (happened around the same time a gay pride parade was going on in 2017) and we hung out the rest of the night. Can’t remember exactly who was there.. for sure Abby, maybe Michelle, David for sure and Mandy. That was fun.
  • PDC retreat where I got to know Bincy a little bit better. It was also fun when Bincy, Diana, and I would carpool and attend classes at the TPA Yearly Pharmacy Conference at the Woodlands.
  • Food dates with Thao (buffalo wild wings, dak & bop (had it for the first time with Thao and other people and it was soo soo soo good. that first time having dak & bop was the best time lol), thai food, fat bao, and sushi(once at Kura w/Thanh and another time w/Lena at that place that gives the free miso soup). Still have to try out captain tom's seafood!
  • Getting to know Thanh at my IPPE 2 hospital rotation was awesome! It was a lot of fun. She made me laugh a lot.
  • When I was bummed about a bad grade(s) in pharmacy school, was anxious, and overwhelmed and Bart took the time to calm me down. We were in Pearland and he suggested that we go to the basketball court and just shoot around. Amazingly, his distraction strategy worked.
  • Bart chauffeuring me around Austin most of the time (mainly cause he can't stand how I drive :P)
  • People sharing notes throughout pharmacy school to help boost morale and help us do better on our exams. Honestly, without their help, I would not have made it into Rho Chi. Getting advice from Marissa B. on how to study for integrated exams really helped motivate me to study smart and not hard.
  • Looked forward to going to my internal medicine rotation at Memorial Hermann - The Woodlands especially since the other co-interns, Bella and Natalie, were funny and nice. We survived some tough times in antibiotic stewardship rounds.

2018 - Present

  • My 2020 Birthday lunch at Grace’s with Abby and Michelle - simple birthday lunch, but happy to spend a special occasion with good friends. They aren’t friends I keep in touch with on a daily basis, but I’m glad we still enjoy spending time with each other even though we don’t keep up with each other all the time.
  • My work team (Savannah’s idea probably) got me a tiramisu cake from Tous Les Jours for my 30th birthday in 2021. This was special because I worked at that store for 3 birthdays in a row, but this was the only birthday I received a birthday present from a coworker. The cake was good!
  • In May 2021, I had a rough day at work. When Lee went on a lunch break that day, she came back with 3 cake pops from Starbucks to make me feel better. So sweet! It definitely made my day much much better. :) The other 2 cake pops were given to my other coworkers.
