philosophically, i align most strongly with ethics of care, with stoicism and existentialism following closely behind. together, these philosophies shape the way i navigate both my inner and outer world.
because of this, i find myself fundamentally opposed to utilitarian worldviews, as they often seem to overlook lived experience, individual dignity, and the concrete humanity of the people involved.
ethics should begin with human beings as lived, relational, dignified people — not as quantities in an optimization problem.
