• it's brisk between the edges of town. the walls that form a web through and around the community keeps the biochemicals from seeping into the water supply. since 3999, the laws that came into place to protect the citizens from the harm of biochemical warefare residue took affect, leading to webs of towns and cities - connected through underground tunnels and bridges that reach three miles tall.
• the war began in 3970, and lasted until 4000. a thirty year war that solved nothing and displaced/killed multiple societies and nations. With that in mind, many communities thrived in this particular setting. Biochemical warefare turned out to be possibly the most lewd occurrence that the citizens had ever laid their eyes on.
• Ten years prior to the war, societies were at large - run purely through their own governments and keeping a steady hand and hand policy.
• RUEDIGER , the town's mailman. Born into this hellscape with nothing to show from it. extra long toenails, maybe. you don't think anyone's toenails should be that long, but good god they are.
• RUEDIGER, you're maybe 22, or 23. you're not sure, individual birthdays are not a celebration.
• ruediger:

in short, the anti-christ, or maybe, the evolution of pro-christ. or maybe that's too boring. ruediger is definitely some sort of god, controlling the outcomes of many different scenarios - without noticing it. extremely powerful if given the right to be. but he's literally trapped in a video game, so he can't do much besides experience the same thing over and over again, dying multiple deaths & experiencing the catacombs under glitches and cheatcodes. before he was sacrificed, his job was a mailman that liked to hide in his room and dress as a clown. clowns are basically worshipped in his society (note: tod loves pierrot.) Clowns are the only piece of information that is left of the pre-society. (note: anything from 2000 is a fucking joke - nobody really remembers anything that happens during this time period. it's mostly known as being the industrial revolution but for dumbasses. the technology in 4001 is way more advanced, to the point where it doesn't even fucking exist. tv's, computer's, cars, cellphones (which are usually flipphones or some sort of walkie talkie) still exist - but they're all fucking useless. technology is also Super fucking expensive, leaving a lot of people to slime without it.) Ruediger was an excellent clown-cosplayer, or better known as, clownplayer. Pre-sacrifice Ruediger was probably the best ruediger to ever exist. he had a love for classic books, and knew how to build gadgets of his own. specifically gadgets that identify the materials that something is made out of. he uses these gadgets to mainly forage. marketplaces are shabby and mostly, most things are holograms of the real thing, a lot of money that is exchanged is fake. ruediger avoids these things by just /mostly/ foraging his own food. there are trips that have to be made to the market, but he always buys from his good friend (?? don't know what her name is going to be yet) OH another thing. everyone from rue's time has prosthetic noses. something happened and it caused a massive pollution outbreak and the air became so toxic that nobody could breathe - thus the creation of prosthetic noses where they literally chopped your nose off and gave you a fake one. not everyone has one, but most do.

• IDEAS:

-rue can use saved game slots to load a point in the past/future. - ruediger has been a constant in tod's life, growing up, tod would often see ruediger fucking with something in his vicinity - it's because rue can timetravel and rue & tod's life MAAYBE intertwines in different ways - such as : rue was his childhood mailman/the demon he saw in his sleep/his favorite video game/saw him from time to time, a bit older, sitting across the road from his house. always with a look of reminiscent on his face. can you figure out why? probably not the path ill take but a good au nonetheless.

• Tod Pece :

tod is the product of animal dna mixed with human dna engineering. luckily, he's not incapable of being alive and functional. before he was born, the practice of dna engineering was mostly outlawed - but his family was already genetically fucked and altered. he wasn't born in a lab, he narrowly escaped the years of wicko (note: wicko is his species) torture and lived through an era of social revolution for wicko rights. things are not too salty between most wicko's and humans, unless you're one of the few wealthy people that owned wicko's as pets. most lower class communities are welcoming of such people, and tod grew up in an area that made him feel at home - but he still held the internal terror of torture that years of his heritage faced. because of this, he is extremely political and enjoys history - primarily social rights movements. idea: he is anti-war, but he was drafted to fight in the biochemical warfare. he protested against it, until he found an item (note: the item was put there by Rue, who knew that he was going to be sent to war) that allowed him to alter his identity ONLY through clown makeup.
