A healthy adult according to Allport's standards has the ability of "extension of self", warm human interaction, emotionaly security, realistic views, self-objectification, and a unifying philosophy of life. The person I know that holds these healthy adult traits is Stephen Adams. He is around 25 years old and he serves on the OCC campus as a Bible student and Christian. He definitely can "lose himself in his work" when he preaches the Gospel and he has a very involving interest in the Lord and I can tell that he loves reaching out to others about the life of Christ according to the Bible. He is most certainly a warm human being and interacts with people with a very gentle compusure, and he shows his care very genuinely to others. He is definitely emotionally stable and seems very comfortable with himself, never being phased with the slightest amount of anger or irritation. His perceptions of life are very realistic because he understands people's conceptions and opinions towards Christianity but that still does not hinder his attempt to reach out to these people. He definitely holds a great sense of humor and he has a clear insight of who he is, and I am sure this self-actualization was only fully realized through his walk with Jesus Christ. Finally, he most certainly has a unifying philosophy of Life -- and that is simply loving the Lord and doing his will by saving other people. For these reasons, Stephen Adams, is one of my role models and my pattern that I look up to, as he is a genuine guy who truly loves the Lord.
