  • March 9: Ash Wednesday--Have an ash cross put on your forehead.
  • March 10: Don't text today-just call (way too easy)
  • March 11: Do some chores around the house that you normally don't do
  • March 12: Shovel or snowblow your neighbor's driveway
  • March 13: Read Jonah 1:1-3 and then spend at least one hour doing something you enjoy
  • March 14: Write a prayer to God explaining the habits, behaviors and sins you want to die to.
  • March 15: Call someone with whom you've had a falling out and make amends.
  • March 16: Fast during daylight hours.
  • March 17: Do something that you've been putting off or trying to avoid.
  • March 18: Go for a walk in your neighborhood and pick up any trash that you see.
  • March 19: Go for a jog
  • March 20: Read Jonah 1:4-17 and then spend at least one hour doing something you enjoy
  • March 21: Fast from your favorite treat or hobby
  • March 22: Have a conversation with a family member in which you share about one of the most difficult times of your life.
  • March 23: Spend at least thirty minutes with someone under the age of 5 or over the age of 70
  • March 24: Fast from coffee, soda, or alcohol.
  • March 25: Buy someone's coffee or lunch annonymously
  • March 26: Slow down today and do everything very deliberately. Drive slowly, walk slowly, talk slowly, eat slowly.
  • March 27: Read Jonah 2:1-10, and then spend at least one hour doing something you enjoy.
  • March 28: Pray the Lord's Prayer today at 9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 6 pm, and 9 pm
  • March 29: Watch the 6:00 news today as a family and then pray together about what you saw.
  • March 30: Pray before and after meals today
  • March 31: Fast from technology: tv, computer, internet, video games and music.
  • April 1: Make a meal together as a family and then eat and talk about your day.
  • April 2: Choose one person and pray for them three times today.
  • April 3: Read Jonah 3:1-10 and then spend at least one hour doing something you enjoy.
  • April 4: Call your city hall or neighborhood association and ask what the most pressing needs in the community are.
  • April 5: Go for a walk in your neighborhood and pray for everyone you see.
  • April 6: Send a handwritten letter to a relative who could use some encouragement.
  • April 7: Fast from the radio or music while in the car.
  • April 8: Have a conversation today with someone who you wouldn't normally talk to.
  • April 9: Cook a meal for someone and take it to them.
  • April 10: Read Jonah 4:1-4 and then spend at least one hour doing something you enjoy.
  • April 11: Don't use any sarcasm today.
  • April 12: Put a list of things for which you're grateful in your pocket. Take it out and read it everytime you catch yourself complaining.
  • April 13: Have a conversation with someone or do something thoughtful for a neighbor or classmate.
  • April 14: Tell stories as a family tonight by having each person share something that made them laugh this week.
  • April 15: Give up online social networking for a day: [Facebook, twitter, etc]
  • April 16: Invite someone over for a meal.
  • April 17: Read Jonah 4:5-11 and then spend at least one hour doing something you enjoy.
  • April 18: Place random post it notes with encouraging messages around your house for your family to find.
  • April 19: Talk to or call someone who you love and tell them what you love about them.
  • April 20: Eat only one meal today of rice and beans. during the other two meal times, pray for the hungry of the world.
  • April 21: Don't eat out today and give what you normally would spend anonymously to someone you know who needs it.
  • April 22: Go to a good Friday service with your family or a group of people. SPend 10 minutes in silence remembering Jesus' death.
  • -April 23: Spend the evening with people you love.
  • -April 24: EASTER!!
