MAUI, HAWAII

  • Getting dole-whip at the Dole plantation

OAHU, HAWAII

  • Feeding puffer fish
  • Seeing wild humpback whales
  • Driving around the island to the more rural areas
  • The fresh pineapple and chocolate covered macadamia nuts
  • ABC store.
  • Waking up in the morning while it was still dark out and having chocolate milk and mini donuts for breakfast

KAUAI, HAWAII

  • The laid-back living
  • The tropical jungles, green mountains, the sea caves, the crystal waters and clear blue skys.
  • Banana macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup oh my goodness
  • Spotting a sea turtle on a rock while snorkeling a mile out to sea
  • Visiting waterfalls and the grand canyon of Hawaii
  • Kayaking while hearing about old legends of Hawaiian Gods and the man who fell asleep on the hill.
  • Zip-lining then having sandwiches under dripping streams.
  • Taking pictures and getting amazing ice cream from the little marketplace at our hotel.
  • Seeing the water spouts shoot up and climbing up lush forest vines to the top of a sea cave around Waimea Canyon to see the greatest sight of the ocean I've ever seen.
  • The Luau was the prettiest I'd ever been to and it was fun having Aubrey with us

MICHIGAN

  • Catching fireflies
  • Listening to Patrick Wolf during a thunderstorm and capturing videos of lightening flashes.
  • Running around the path at the giant gym and spotting these little otter-like creatures lurking in the ponds.
  • Getting Mongolian BBQ food, eating hashbrown casserole and fried okra at The Cracker Barrel.
  • The veggie burgers at Bar Louis, the macaroni at Slows BBQ.
  • Going to really great antique stores full of things I'd love.
  • Shopping around Ann Arbor, Michigan.
  • The giant projected HD screen that we watched movies on at my dads.
  • Being hugged/licked/attacked by baby bears in the Upper Peninsula
  • Riding bikes and eating fudge at Mackinaw Island.

CHICAGO

  • I loved the whole feel of the city, the architecture and flower pots were nice.
  • The big panoramic mirror view of the city on the Chicago Bean.
  • Seeing a nicely dressed girl at the H&M.
  • The really delicious Italian restaurant that looked like a Tuscany villa inside.
  • The large but old hotel room with a view of the pier.
  • The falafel I had at the lovely aquarium

NEW YORK

  • Experiencing the perceptions I had of it.
  • Going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it was completely amazing.
  • Going to Central Park and accomplishing a dream by seeing Strawberry Fields
  • Figuring out where to go while it rained, we went to the Natural History Museum
  • Seeing Wicked(I'm such a tourist)
  • Seeing Times Square, not that I liked it. It was far too crowded and a bit tacky.
  • Going down to Little Italy and eating at Lombardi's Pizza then visiting a CHANEL shop.
  • Rockin' my Beatles shirt and getting NY cheesecake on the 4th of July.

JACMEL,HAITI

  • being able to experience the culture shock
  • meeting precious people and befriending orphans.
  • standing in the back of a truck for transportation
  • The rewarding perfect weather at night after a 100 degree day.
  • Playing "hot mango" with the kids and going to the beach.
  • When it started raining on the way back to the orphanage the last day we were there and we all got soaked in the back of a truck while holding a suitcase over our heads.
  • The comfort.
  • The hotel Cyvadier is the greatest hotel. I absolutely love it.
  • The best coffee I've ever had at the hotel every morning+ french toast.
  • The hammock above the beach and under the stars and trees that I would go to every night to talk with Ana Rose or Daniel about deep and profound things.
  • Giving things to kids who chased us down on the mountains or streets.
  • The food-fried plantain, creole rice with beans.
  • Paying a stranger to get us a fresh and delicious coconut out of his tree
  • Hiking to Bassin Bleu( amazing blue-coloured waterfalls and pools)
  • All the pictures I got to take like of finding a wild ghost-faced bat up close.
  • Watching Finding Nemo in French under the stars while it rained at the orphanage.
  • That one night I went to the hammock at night by myself and let raindrops drip right to my forehead while I soaked and listened to Cocorosie. It was otherworldy, it was one of the most memorable moments of my life.
  • The van breaking down in the hilltops.
  • Catching the babiest of geckos in a cup.
  • Swimming in the ocean at the hotel while it rained knowing that it was the season for jellyfish, hoping I would'nt get stung, but singing in excitement til nightfall...it was a beautiful sight.

LONDON, ENGLAND

  • Visiting cousin Cassie and seeing her kitten Rue were my favorite things-I slept so great the night I arrived because I hadn't slept on the overnight flight.
  • We saw Star Treck: Into Darkness before it came out in America and we ate at the theatre-a hot dog and ice cream(hah). I never eat at theatres( or eat hotdogs)so it was actually kind of a nice thing.
  • Warwick Castle was really neat(and cold), plus they had a bird show with owls and giant eagles.
  • Having tea with my dad at Westminster Abbey and trying clotted cream-everything was sooo good!
  • Crossing Abbey Road with Cassie

PARIS, FRANCE

  • Taking a cooking class with Lauren and learning to fillet a fish and had an excellent meal
  • Being able to drink wine and beer at 16(I'm not a fan of alchohol but it was fun okay give me a break)
  • Seeing the Eiffel tower the first time
  • Café Zinc which had the best croquet monsieur and Soupe L'oignon(seriously it was awful at another French café)
  • Having hot chocolate at Angelina with Laurens friends including Julie the French girl.
  • The hotel was so cute and I loved walking everywhere!
  • All of the food, seriously. The food was amazing-the almond croissants in particular, especially from Pierre Herme Bakery

SWITZERLAND

  • Seeing the sheep, cows, and goats with their bells.
  • Switzerland had gross food but I had fun experiencing a Swiss Garage Party where they made various sausages for the guests.(Swiss people are quite solitudal so they have house parties...well...in the garage.)
  • Seeing Nicki

ITALY

  • The first meal we had in Venice, Italy was tagliatella alfedo with ham(parma)right next to the canal in front of the rialto bridge. It was SO GOOD.
  • Riding the Gondola and seeing Marco Polos home
  • The warm weather!
  • Nutella Croissants and DIY Monte Cristos I would make every morning from the breakfast selections.
  • Hiking around Cinque Terre(five villages) along the coast and the waitress that never talked but smiled and nodded over everything. She was very pretty and Italian looking
  • The gelato in Rome was the best! Go to GIOLITTIS GELATO
  • Documenting things in my Europe notebook was always fun.
  • Having the best pizza and fried stuffed olives at Li Riono in Rome( a local told me about it)
  • The street café we had our last lunch at in Rome where we had a 1/2leter of wine for only 2 euros and the Italian server told us to try Short Noodle Amitriciana( a pasta dish with tomato sauce and bacon which sounds not that good but is AMAZING)
  • We found a little restaurant around the backstreets by the Trevi Fountain called Spaghetteria where they have one hundred different spaghetti options on the menu. They seated us in the downstairs cellar and we got one with vodka cream sauce, chicken, and peas that was really good.
  • Bread and olive oil, everyday, every meal...ugh so good
  • Italy really was a great place-very relaxing feeling even after you've walked six miles.
