9th grade
- Ms. Biber - World Cultures
- she was crazy. we called her the beebs. she got married and pregnant sophomore year, which is weird, because i totally thought she was at least 50.
- Mrs. Long - ICPE
- introduction to chemistry, physics, and the environment. my mom made me take this instead of skipping to bio, so i was resentful. the teacher was sweet though.
- Mrs. Daniels - World Literature
- i feel bad now, because we made fun of her so much. she was kind of a bad teacher though. the people in the class were great and i liked most of the books.
- Mrs. Youndt - Geometry and Finite Math
- another good math teacher, but otherwise unremarkable. chipper like a chipmunk.
- Mr. Holland - Spanish
- adorable. really. so funny. i had him junior year too. "it's snowing in the courtyard! it looks just like hogwarts!"
- Ms. Mariani - Freshman Health & Gym
- hilarious. all of her friends were either dead or dying from an STD, drug abuse, or some other obscure disease. not funny at first, but having her more than once, it just got ridiculous.
- Mrs. Kruk - 2D Design
- fabulous. technically subbing for the real teacher, who was on sabbatical.
- Mr. Smith and Mrs. Ebarvia - Literary Magazine
- the advisors for all four years, except when ebarv was preggers. words cannot express how much i love them.
10th grade
- Mr. Zimmerman - AP Euro
- (i feel like i want to mark what was AP just for remembering reasons - i have no desire to brag about or even talk about that shit anymore) he was perhaps the most famous teacher at stoga. further detail later.
- Mrs. Gontarek - AP Bio
- i really liked her. and the class. as in, the people in it, the material we studied, all of it.
- Mrs. Light - American Lit
- hilarious woman. made us coffee all the time. took us to the cafeteria as part of lessons. she had weird toes. we all loved her.
- Mr. Poiesz - Algebra 2
- my favorite math teacher of all time. he was hilarious and loud and made inappropriate jokes/remarks all the time. he taught us algebra like it was a huge party.
- Sra. Keller - Spanish
- had her again senior year. i really hated her sophomore year, but kind of got over that by the second time i had her. she really wasn't a very good teacher, but she meant well, and was accidentally funny all the time.
- Dr. Kerschner - Studio 1
- he was wonderful. always with the skinny ties and leather vests. i will always remember his lectures on the point of art, continuous line, perspective...
11th grade
- Mr. Cruz - AP US history
- i bullied him like crazy. he was usually asking for it. the class was always hilarious though. he and mr zimmerman were the model UN chaperones, so we had good times. weirdly. they were not good role models for good conduct in hotels.
- Mr. Wood - AP Chem 1
- adorable in the nerdiest of ways. really nice, actually taught me chemistry. i still have all my labs with his smiley faces.
- Ms. Doyle - AP Lit and Comp
- i was the only junior in her class. it was generally a senior class. so when they went on internship it was just me and her for a month. we read/watched lord of the flies and i only came to class every other day.
- Mrs. Pretz - Math Anaylsis/Pre-Calc
- i could not stand her. at all. looking back she wasn't that bad, but she bugged the crap out of me. i always just did the homework during class.
- Mrs. Burns - Studio 3
- i skipped studio 2, because i'm a cheater. i loved mrs. burns, she was wonderful. that class was so fantastic, i had it right after lunch, too.
12th grade
- Mr. Stabert - AP US Gov't
- he was so cute. and also weird, but mostly really attractive. i don't really remember learning anything, except how to gerrymander.
- Mrs. Ciamacca - AP Comp Gov't
- she was so fantastic. a former marine. very interesting/fun/funny.
- Mr. Meade - AP Physics
- he was really funny. reminded me of my dad. considering how freaking hard that class was, i feel like i actually did pretty well, largely because he was such a good teacher.
- Mrs. Shepherd - Euro Lit
- hands down my favorite teacher ever of my entire learning career. she led the most amazing life, and she was a fantastic teacher, and she had/did everything. i pretty much plan on keeping in touch with her and continuing the same reading methods she taught us.
- Mrs. Mull - AP Calc AB
- she was very fashionable, and also very sweet. she taught us well. i thought i would suck at calculus, but it was actually easier than other math.
- Mr. Zimmerman - AP Psychology
- he was famous for being a good teacher, which he was. he was kind of hilarious and taught us unconventionally and well. but he was also really very sexist and narcissistic. he never complimented anyone, really, the only time i ever heard him say anything purposefully nice to someone was when he explained why i got the award from his department at graduation. why does he get such a long description?
- Mr. Smith and Mrs. Ebarvia - Lit Mag
- again, i love them. and my fellow editors. kayla, emma, and kiley.
