- Moonrise Kingdom (2012)
- Rushmore (1998)
- The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) ★★★★★ (became my favourite movie. love the plot, the narrative style, the antiquity, the baroque style, the symmetry , the burst of colours, the use of miniatures, the flat space camera moves and the snap-zooms. love the humour. I teared and I laughed. it's a fast-paced comedy centered on a tragic past. the whole movie runs smoothly with strong rhythms and sudden action, though I detest the ending. truely admire Wes Anderson's work.)
- The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004)
- The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
YORGOS LANTHIMOS
- The Lobster (2015) ★★★★ (love the setting of the movie. being single is illegal. extremely weird but kind of warm & romantic. I love the irony and absurdity. on one side it was the ruthless loners with different punishements for flirting, on the other side there was this hotel for singles competing for lifetime companions. I love how the small dots of the story are connected. it's a depressing love story I wish they were both in the hotel from the beginning. it's weird how women are attracted to the main character and they kept helping him. human relationships are fabricated. how would you ever know if it is real love. I love the directing style. kind of similar to Wes Anderson's movies. The symmetry and the muted hues. love how the characters and the narration all speak in a cold-blooded tone. the openending though..)
