• Tomorrowland (2015) ★★★★(guessing this will be another classic. it's like a combination of Elysium & 2012. talks about the futuristic world and the end of the world. comparing to 2012 it focus less on economic status. The trailer didn't show much about the movie so I was deeply fascinated by the scenes in the future world, with jet packs, skyscrapers, floating railways & aerial walkways. I can even imagine how Disney is gonna use those those scenes for their rides, esp the recruitment trailer. But it was also disappointing 'cause the movie didn't mention much about the future world in the latter half. The scenes of Casey exploring w/ the pin were hilarious. I like the story-telling style and it helps to connect the whole story as the movie has a complicated structure - the past, present and the future. My fav character is the little girl Athena I love her acting and her very British accent. she showed so much emotions even with her brows. for one sec reminded me of the Cadbury brow dance ad campaign lol. Was deeply touched by the relationship between the two kids but at the same time feel so wrong that she was actually in love w/ George Clooney -_- It was shocking that the goodbye scene was actually not creepy nor disgusting but was very touching that I almost cried. I also like the character Casey, she reminded me of the positive, curious little kid I was at one time. The fighting & bombing scenes are so cool but the scene which a rocket rose inside the Eiffel Tower is so ridiculous. It somehow reminded me of the steam punk era. I dont really like the ending 'cause it's so philosophical & difficult to understand. It's so unsatisfying. It's all about self-fulfilling prophesy. So basically the end of the world happens simply because everyone on earth thinks negatively and no one takes the opportunity to make a better future. Because no one does what is necessary to fight back and so the Earth destroy itself!? Most post-apocalyptic movies talk about ecological disaster and I like how this movie takes optimistic side.Every day is the opportunity for a better tomorrow. Everything is possible if you feed the right wolf which is light & hope, instead of the other wolf which is darkness and despair.)
