January 2011 - 4 months old

• 1/1 met Nana's horses

February 2011 - 5 months old

• 2/2 learns to give mommy wet kisses on the cheek
• 2/4 learns to make little giggles
• 2/7 holds up legs by the pants
• 2/7 talks to his reflection in the mirror
• 2/10 laughs at mommy when she stubs her toe
• 2/14 mama's valentine
• 2/15 mastered bouncing in jumpy seat
• 2/17 learned that mommy gets away with a lot when she's pulled over by cops
• 2/18 learned how to trick ride on a pony
• 2/26 flew to arizona to see Nonna
• 2/28 made a big poopie mess at Wrigley's mansion

March 2011 - 6 months old

• 3/1 rolled over by himself at Nonna's house
• 3/1 Nonna gives him his first big laugh
• 3/1 obsessed with holding up feet
• 3/7 cups mommy and daddy's face with his hands and give big open mouth kisses on the cheek
• 3/10 tried bananas, confusion!
• 3/13 grabs and pulls on his ears while nursing
• 3/17 tries carrots
• 3/19 tries peas
• 3/20 desmond smiles all day for mama's birthday
• 3/23 smiles and shrugs his shoulders
• 3/26 flirts, charms and shows off his smile for all the ladies of providence(bead store, whole foods, la creperie, Second Time Around)
• 3/27 yelps and make Aaah Aaah noises

April 2011 - 7 months

• 4/1 pretends to chew gum
• 4/4 tries sweet potatoes
• 4/7 wiggle wiggle wiggle, as usual
• 4/8 can suck on big toes
• 4/9 stares at his own hand as he turns it
• 4/9 squeals and smiles when mommy plays the shopping cart game
• 4/14 can speak parcel tongue
• 4/15 spills hot sauce at tortilla flats
• 4/16 daddy and Desmond communicate to each other with farts :P
• 4/21 likes to snort and huff and puff
• 4/22 3rd trip to PA, first tooth through
• 4/23 sienna makes Des cry; no evening nap; went to visit Peanut shop; ate ricotta cheese and LOVED it.
• 4/24 first easter! ; Gets on hands and knees and rocks forward and back
• 4/25 such a good boy on the drive home
• 4/28 can very much sit on his own
• Took a bath in his rubber ducky tub

May 2011 - 8 months old

• 5/13 thinks it's funny to shake his head back and forth real fast.
• 5/20 can hold onto the edge of the pack & play and stand up
• 5/21 experienced the end of the world
• 5/21 visited quiet valley historical farm
• 5/27 Desmond can really crawl around when he's focused
• 5/28 can open his mouth wide now - mehmehmahmahmehmahma

June 2011 - 9 months old

• 6/2 fell out of the bumbo
• 6/3 crawled to mommy to see mommy!
• 6/3 met Eli and Alyson
• 6/3 can step forward when holding my hands
• 6/10 woke up at 2 pm and didn't fall back asleep until 8:30 pm :/
• 6/11-6/24
• front teeth coming in up top
• lays head on shoulder when he's feeling cuddly and tired
• can zoom around the house like speedy gonzales
• growls/grunts
• makes maamaaaamaaamaaaamaa sounds
• loves sesame street and fraggle rock
• got to play with TJ for the first time in 6 months

July 2011 - 10 months

• saw fireworks for the first time (he didnt enjoy all the booms)
• loves to... NOT sleep
• loves to... put up a fight while NOT sleeping
• seems to be very needy towards both mommy and daddy
• says 'nang nang' quite a lot ??
• knocks over plants like a ferret would
• free falls from a standing position

August 2011 - 11 months

• sometimes stands without support for more then 5 seconds
• smacks mama when he's excited
• makes sounds like didi nini nang adaaa adaaa ughhhhhh hhhhhshssssss, pbpbpbbpbpbb
• fart sounds is his native tongue and him and daddy communicate that way all day!
• slaps, smacks, taps, pounds, pats everything. his life is a drumset.
• buries head in mommys tummy when he's sleepy.
• takes his first bubble bath in the big tub
• wears shoes and keeps them on
• sleepover at grammie and grandpas house
• dumped a whole pot of soil over himself
• climbed a whole set of stairs (with daddy supervising)
• climbed a half a set of stairs (with no one supervising) :/
• experienced first hurricane (irene)
• played in a blanket fort with daddy
• likes to play with flashlights
• takes a couple steps toward dad

September 2011 - 12 months (One Year!)

• visits Boudreaus in NH and doesn't sleep the whole way there.
• Desmond laughs at Gavin when he twirls
• plays with Gracie and cries when she cries
• slides things across the floor
• hands mommy things
• yells VERY loudly!
• rolls and cuddle with all his furry stuffed animals
• can click his tongue
• loves dried strawberries

October 2011 - 13 months

• claps by himself for the first time
• waves... to himself.
• meets Great Aunt Bea
• tries popcorn and loves it!
• can press the button on his spinning light
• backs off of the couch and bed
• went down the big red slide
• points at the animals on his wall
• really walks!
• walks well while holding hands

November 2011 - 14 months

• makes monkey sounds (oo aaa ooo aaa)
• when asked if he wants a cookie says duidudiduidui
• lays on his sesame street sofa when he's handed his bottle
• doesn't sleep the whole way there and back when he visited PA for Thanksgiving :/
• grabs on to mommy and puts his head in between my legs when he wants to be picked up
• loves curious george
• point to curious george in his touch and feel book

December 2011 - 15 months

• went to Gavin's 5th birthday party
• met Larry for the first time
• made funny lip smacking noises when ever he sees Larry
• caught his first cold
• climbs up mamas legs into her arms
• new words - hey dada, sit!, umm, mmmm, shhh
• learned to drink from a straw
• sings E I E I O when mommy sings Old McDonald
• likes to fall from the ottoman onto his couch over and over again
• pasta with pesto makes for stinky poops
• visited the Providence Children's Museum
• played with TJ a couple times a week when he visited
