Beats Antique's "Intertwine": 3:31

There's a long intro of wind noises and other clinking things which wakes up to the metallic theme, coming in chunks. i see the eboard or a small group of advanced girls in different positions on the floor, sitting scattered. we wake up slowly, individually, and one of us plays the role of the "wind"- slicing in with sharp-handed, peculiarly-leveled desert roses to sweep past each of us and wake us. the lights come on in the early, heavy thudding beats (0:09, for instance), and we awake like trees in a wind. shimmying on the 0:50s and backbending shuddering starting 1:07 up to 1:13 or so.

we're in a line by this time, assembled, and there's some rhythm-matching shimmying and hip hits- shimmy hipcircle at 1:18, make it glitter, hands out in front of us in a sort of hoop shape to highlight what our butts are doing- up to a solid temple pose at 1:22. we start moving out, egyptians or something, and at 1:25 there's a sort of shimmying shuddery camel thing that happens. we're in performance formation now, out of the line and in our windows or whathaveyou.

some of us have our backs to the audience, some are facing forward. 1:25-1'30 isolated rib slides and some lacy arms. in the 1:33ish range we're doing these sort of static sashay things like we're balancing somethign on top of our heads, one to each side, but returning to the same spot. :34-1:35 lacy arms weaving up to temple pose. on 1:39 where it lands we kick-spin and all turn angled to the side, so we're on a 45deg with the audience. some bellywork and arms with maybe dropkicks to get back into some sort of curved line in the calm quiet and then this sound comes in...

  • ...comes in around 1:45 and we start doing a kind of wave of backbends... I want this to start at the front and progress back so the audience can see it, but i'm seeing it from behind the stage, so it's skewed. We're doing progressive backbends or something and wavy arms, figure this out, to this sound and there are these hits of moments where there's a short cymbal. I want people to fall out of the line seemingly at random into a floorwork position- still sitting up but down on legs, arms at right angles doing hands in front of face kind of thing.

by 1:50 the last one falls and we're all on the floor. we start doing some handwork, sitting upright, and then with the interrupting drums we lean slowly back to the floor. this is going to be one of those moments where the audience cheers for us. we all lean back and there's a lingering moment around 1:56-1:57 where we pause and look at the audience, heads almost touching the floor, torsos arched away from it, hands one crooked in towards throat and the other pushing away, out-

then there's these three sort of swished percussive notes, and in those we pull up, sort of spin on our knees to lunge outwards. some of us will go to the right and some to the left. 2:00-2:03 we find our places back in the windows formation, probably a different one. 2:03-2:12 there's some vibrating strings and so we're doing that shimmy-walk type thing from Set Fire but we're also doing armwork, chest circles, stuff. there's a two-second pause there and we're desert rose back in some sort of diagonal line, sides to the audience. we're facing stage left.

2:16 and we're doing some isolated chestwork like in mel's 100 eyes, arms half out and elbows down near our hips. on the vibrations 2:18 we shimmy into temple pose and turn to face the audience. some isolated chestwork with the beats, shimmy and a quick undulation to end in a sharp head turn L on 2:25.

another progression, and we're starting from the Lmost end of the line in another wave formation; a sort of swoop downward with the arms, like a bird going off a cliff, arms twining and we come up, moving across the stage somehow (this is weird no matter how you say it) and rearranging us. not sure what's going on here- a V, maybe, with the first Lmost person ending up being the front point. from 2:36 in the quiet we omi down to the floor, hands at angles to hips. 2:42 and we're doing armwork on the floor, not quite the my-hand-is-a-snake move but something similar. 2:47 and we're doing the sideways-plank undulation thing. undulations to music until 2:55, coming back down, drawing ourselves gracefully but creepily up to standing by pulling ourselves armlessly to our feet- armless because our arms are pulling birdlike up at the floor, out at our sides.

that way at 2:57 we're set to shimmy ourselves back upright from our sideways-bend positions. there's a little bit of an undulation to this. we get ourselves upright in time for the 3:00 chest isolations, shimmy and chest pop at 3:04. more undulating sashaying forward with arms, shimmying up to temple at 3:08 and turning to face the back- we're still in the V at this point- and moving towards the back of the stage into a single line (like the beginning) by 3:14. There's some (together) shimmying and hand movements to face the L in our line, and then crunchy mayas and crunchy fig8s to face front, hands down elbows at waists palms open to audience at 3:21. We sashay back to our original spots on the floor and fall down at random back into our starting positions.
