this is a tutorial on how to download (hd) videos from naver tvcast, a korean video streaming site where you can watch korean dramas, shows, music videos, and even get exclusive videos of oppas like this! this works on desktop (not on mobile), runs on command prompt, and on any windows operating system. the developers say this also works for mac os but i'm not sure if this is the exactly similar way to do it since i am not a mac os user, lol. note: this could be painfully tedious, and there are easier ways to download videos from naver tvcast than this, but those are temporary and might not work anymore but this always does! so yeah.

  • download the latest version of youtube-dl.
    • right click on the link that says youtube-dl.exe and click "save link as.." or "save target as.." depending on what browser you're using.
    • save it wherever you want but i suggest just putting it on desktop or downloads folder.
  • once the download is finished, cut (press: ctrl + x) it and head to your local disk (c:) folder. paste (press: ctrl + v) the file inside the windows folder.
  • run command prompt (press: windows key + r, type "cmd" and hit enter).
  • copy the direct link of the video you want to download.
  • go to command prompt and type the following: youtube-dl *press ctrl + v to paste the download link* then hit enter.
    • example: youtube-dl http://tvcast.naver.com/v/708298/
    • if it displays an error, try retyping the syntax above but remove the slash ( / ) at the end of the link.
    • if it still doesn't work, retype the syntax again but this time adding back the slash.
    • this would take quite a while as this is where the download of the video takes place.
  • as the download finishes, type: youtube-dl *paste the download link* -f 4. press enter.
    • example: youtube-dl http://tvcast.naver.com/v/204099/ -f 4
    • make sure to type the letter f in lowercase!
    • you can choose in what resolution you want to download the video. you can choose from 0 to 4 with 4 being the highest quality (1920x1080 pixels). just replace the number at the end of the syntax.
  • your download is now finished! to locate your downloaded video, follow these simple steps:
    • search for the title of the video on your device.
    • right click on the video on select "Open file location".
    • cut it and paste on a folder you want to place it.
    • done!
