• lmfao TODAY! Sang at Big Sing competitively for choir (which was nerve racking but felt very accomplished afterwards) as well as rezo choir where I had a solo in our rendition of 'Forget You' by Cee-lo (which was more fun and relaxed despite me having a solo...)
• One time in Year 6, I was in the school rock band (yeah I know, so cool Vicky) where I was usually the back up singer (I was the only girl...), but in this one song (smoke on the water), I was the main singer and had only heard this song for the first time the day before so I barely knew the lyrics. Performed it at our showcase thingy in front of a hall full of parents, teachers and students. Forgot the lyrics for an entire verse. Has haunted me ever since.
• In Year 7 I got cast as the main female role in our school play. The play was about bollywood. I was an indian princess. I had to wear a sari. It was pretty awesome/horrible.
• Despite being embarrassingly uncoordinated and not at all graceful, I'm part of the Chinese Dance Group at school and I performed a 'traditional chinese dance' this year at a couple of cultural events like Polyfest and two years ago as well.
• Lots of Big Sing/Kids Sing competitions for choir and school assemblies/services.
• I've only done one piano concert in my life and this was in front of around 50 or so people who all went to the same piano academy/school/place as me. Played one piece. Fucked it up. HATE THAT SHIT.
• In Year 9 I got into the spelling bee. I got stage fright and spelt a really easy word wrong. Cannot for the life of me remember what that word was.
• Talent Quest in Year 9. Sang 'Lean On Me' with Joanna. I think I went flat. Best comment was "You seemed like you really enjoyed yourself up there!"
• Talent Quest in Year 3 (?). Sang "Superstar" By Jamelia with my friend Jo (not Joanna). Provocative dance moves. Too young to fully understand the song's lyrics. Got 3rd place.
• Award ceremonies? (School, Kumon...)
