- Leonardo da Vinci: He was such a remarkable artist and inventor. We studied him last year closer in my Music Appreciation class. Learning about his technique and inventiveness is just so much fun and incredible to study. The fact that he had the capability of painting in both directions at once, one hand doing one thing and the other doing something totally different, is just too cool and admirable. I think Leonardo has been overlooked by so many but not by me, I find him to be the epitome of amazing and that will never change. He's definitely one of few who have shaped art into what it is today; well, I think so anyway.
- William Shakespeare: He is the one man I consider to be the father of literature, whether others think so or not. Reading his plays and his use of Old English language is just so beautiful. I can actually understand what he writes and is trying to say, and I love indulging into the greatness that is his writing. If only he was still alive, I would have him help me edit all my papers and we would write in unison to blow all professors, experts, and anyone who just so choose to read our work out of the park! I just think it'd be so awesome to sit down with somebody like him and talk about life on a very intellectual, passionately deep level.
- Andy Warhol: He is another one of those very remarkable artists but more modern, yet still considered historical. He is, like Shakespeare but more with art-art, the father of the pop culture (more known as pop art). We also studied Andy last year but in my Art Appreciation class, and I loved reading about him and his favorite techniques like the use of repetition in his work and using silkscreens. He was very daring and I love that about him. He wasn't afraid to be different and his art is evidence of that.
- Marilyn Monroe She is one of those people that I know would just simply adore and love if I knew her in my life. She went through a plethora of pain but had so much wisdom and was not afraid of other peoples' judgment. She was herself and not many respected her for being herself but I admire her for being confident and being the icon that many teens and girls just in general look up to to model themselves after, when it comes to finding one's beauty and inner self. She is the epitome of what it means to be beautiful and to be comfortable in your own skin, something I don't have but envy greatly.
- Sylvia Plath: She is a poet that I admire and have grown to love so much recently. I looked up a few of her poems today and I love how much detail she adds to just a few lines or stanzas. She certainly has a way with words. My favorite poem by her so far is "Cinderella". I'm looking forward to reading more pieces by her and learning more about her by reading up on her. Not to mention, by the way, she is just a doll! I'd give anything to get some poetic advice from her. That would be a dream.
- Rosa Parks: She was a wise, brave, and courageous lady. She is one woman in history that I admire for her awareness of self, strong opinions, and sense of what was wrong and what was right. I look to her as someone to be one I model myself after when it comes to public speaking and always remember to speak strongly about what I am most dear to.
- Vincent van Gogh: He is most definitely, again, one of those very remarkable artists that I show great adulation to, like I had done with Andy and Leo. Anyone who knows me, knows my obsession with Vincent is unlike no other. His work is just incredibly outstanding! I love learning about his different layering techniques and many other painting techniques. He is also a blast to learn about. If only I could paint like Vincent, then I would certainly be living the good life.
- Anne Boleyn: She is one of the strongest women I know of from history. She had to put up with King Henry the VIII and his irrational slyness and douchebaggery. Fuckhead is just mad he didn't have enough testosterone to produce a bastard of a son when he wanted. Anne was definitely the best woman he was ever with, I think, if you can even consider them ever really being together. Anne was very smart, she had a lively personality, and keen wit. She was also a skilled musician and dancer. She even created her own special style, which is so incredibly admirable, by adopting French fashions and customs that she learned from Mary. King Henry VIII really missed out on the greatness that of Anne Boelyn, and he was such an asshole to her after the annulment of their marriage so much that it makes me sick.
- Helen Keller: She was also one of those strong women from our history that I love. Living life blindly, as well as being deaf, and still just living it to its fullest is something I find so inspirational. She was extremely smart and was so determined to make the best out of what little life she did have. She is hardly respected today but out of the few who do show her respect, like myself, I think of her being forever amazing in my eyes.
