- Zooropa (the album)
- "Zooropa" (the song)
- LARRY. FREAKING. MULLEN. FREAKING. JUNIOR. LOL Larry!wife
- "Stay (Faraway, So Close)"
- "STAAAAAAAAAAAAY and the night would...be enough"
- Achtung Baby. Even Richey had to give them their well-deserved props there!
- Adam's massive wang.
- Macphisto.
- ZooTV.
- Trying to read all the ZooTV Fly text.
- "BON APPETIT...FATTY"
- "Invisible."
- MOOOOOOOOFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
- The Fly (the persona).
- "The Fly" (the song).
- Dancing my ass off to "The Fly" at Aloha Stadium.
- Shrooms!
- "If I had a head like yours, I'd bleedin' bury it!"
- Feeling like a kid on Christmas morning every time I listen to "City Of Blinding Lights."
- Sobbing like a baby when I heard "City Of Blinding Lights" live.
- "Where the Streets Have No Name" on Rattle & Hum.
- "These city lights, they shine as silver and gold"
- "We're binary code, a 1 and a 0" just because I'm a geek like that.
- "Now we LIIIIIIIE together in whispers and mooooans"
- "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me." Even the haters love that song.
- The "Electrical Storm" video. If I hadn't already been a Larry girl, this video would have sealed the deal.
- The guitar in "Ultra Violet (Light My Way)."
- Okay, everything about "Ultra Violet (Light My Way)." Even the "baby, baby, baby" refrain.
- The dropped drumstick, too. I thought that was on purpose, to be honest.
- "The Electric Co."
- That BP Fallon interview.
- The nekkid interview. Best interview ever, 4srs.
- "The story of the three bears. You've got Mammy Bear, Daddy Bear and Baby Bear, and y'know, the usual rap, and they come downstairs and they eat the porridge and the porridge is too hot, y'know, so they all go for a walk and then they come back and Daddy Bear says, Who's been eating my porridge?' And Mother Bear says, 'Who's been eating my porridge?' And Baby Bear says, 'Feck the porridge, somebody just stole the video machine!'"
- The prank calls.
- "Wake Up Dead Man."
- "Last Night On Earth," the single version.
- That joyful feeling after hearing a song of theirs I may not have heard in a while. Obviously applies more to some songs than others.
- Specifically, not listening to "With Or Without You" for a long time and then letting it blow me away again.
- "With Or Without You" got me through an emotionally heavy breakup that neither of us wanted. It was all for the best, though.
- The completely awesome Temple Bar remix of "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses."
- There may not be anything new under the sun, but they certainly try.
- PopMart. My inner raver loves it.
- They weren't necessarily the first rock'n'roll sloganeers, but they made it look the coolest.
- All the fantastic colors of PopMart.
- And entering the stage in a giant motherfucking lemon.
- "Miss Sarajevo."
- Hearing "Miss Sarajevo" live.
- Specifically, Bonorotti.
- "Mysterious Ways."
- The bassline in same.
- And that 70's porny remix. I used to hate it, but now it's good for lulz.
- How well everything about the band meshes.
- "One." It took me a while (and some actual living) to appreciate fully what an amazing song it is.
- U2 in drag has proven incredibly useful.
- Larry's extreme hotness. He is in a class by himself.
- He's an awesome drummer too.
- And if I had my pick of anyone in this world, even if I could go back in time, I'd still hit that like the fist of an angry god first.
- Mr. The Edge. I may admire other guitarists' technical skills, but he's still my favorite.
- Bono's speaking voice. It's one of the sexiest I've heard.
- A little of the fic is actually readable.
- The fact that Adam actually looks better in drag than the rest of them. Seriously, how the hell does that work? And what's it with bass players and drag?
- That mirrorball suit and PIMP DOGGY!
- "Who's gonna ride - FUCK!" I'm sorry, but that's hot.
- Actually, that whole video is hot.
- How open almost all their lyrics are to interpretation.
- The "Discothèque" video.
- How adorably faily the end of same is.
- Boomcha!
- The second "Window In The Skies" video. It helped me learn to appreciate the song a bit more.
- Hearing it live also helped.
- They put on one of the best live shows you'll ever see.
- They're my little black dress of a band. I may turn to other music for a slice of something different, but I'll always come back to a classic.
- "I'm not broke, but you can see the cracks / You can make me perfect again"
- How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. I went off it for a bit, but this is thanks to certain other fans. I've since had another proper listen and it still has a vitality that so much other mainstream music lacks.
- The fact that they have enough money to put out crap that will sell like hotcakes anyway, and they still turned out something that fantastic.
- How open they are to various influences.
- Adam's skills with a bass.
- The rhythm section in general. They are the band's secret weapon; U2 wouldn't be the same without their awesomeness.
- Even the weakest of U2's songs are still listenable and often still pleasant thanks to them. There's only one exception to this rule, and we don't talk about it.
- Okay, okay, how sexy Bono was as The Fly. I'm pretty sure this laid the foundation for my JDB!wifery. I never had a kink for rough looking men before that.
- And how frightening yet somehow endearing Bono was as Macphisto. I know I've listed both personas already, but we're getting into specifics here.
- And how scarily convincing he was as a, ehhhmmmm, manic street preacher when in the Mirrorball Man persona.
- "Sunday Bloody Sunday" on Rattle & Hum.
- Many of them would never admit it, but without U2, a lot of the bands I listen to wouldn't exist.
- That crescendo in "Yahweh." You know the one. It's one of the most magical moments on How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
- No one does musical landscapes quite like they do. There have been a few songs from others that come close, but nobody beats them.
- The Unforgettable Fire. It took a long time for me to get used to how out-of-focus a lot of it was, but I have grown to love it. It's perfect when you're having an off day.
- Say what you want about Bono, but at least he's trying to do good things.
- Live at Red Rocks. I'm known as a ZooTV girl, but the Red Rocks footage is some of my favorite stuff.
- Bono's epic mullet. It reminds me of a hedgehog.
- "No Line On The Horizon" (the song).
- Which also helped me with that emotionally heavy breakup.
- Larry mimicking Adam's hand gestures in Rattle & Hum.
- The Redanka remix of "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight."
- I may complain a lot about what they may have done wrong, but that's honed my critical thinking skills. Bless 'em.
- Besides, we'll always have the '90s. There's nothing like doing a ZooTV/PopMart DVD marathon on a Friday night.
- I quite enjoy Linear. I think it comes closer to illustrating No Line on the Horizon's original intent than U2360° did.
