• Sonic Youth- they've been around for almost 30 years and their last two records, Rather Ripped and Sonic Nurse, are among the best of their whole career.
  • Radiohead- while I'm tired of talking about how they great they are at this point, they've been keeping it real this whole time.
  • Wilco- are the best band in the world, basically.
  • Gogol Bordello- are new to most people but have been together since 1999 and have done nothing but be original, funny and exciting and Eugene Hutz is probably the best performer of his generation.
  • Flaming Lips- also have been around since the 80s and seem to be on a never ending streak of great albums.
  • Green Day- I'm so happy are the most popular band in America and I liked American Idiot even if that makes me lame

  • "I Wanna Be Your Dog"- The Stooges. We first played this song because Ron Asheton died and then we played it again because everybody liked it. Upon doing this song, I, like Iggy Pop, was compelled to get on my hands and knees like a dog.
  • "Stand By Me"- Ben E. King. This is probably the only cover we ever played that everybody knows the words to.
  • "Oh, Carol"- Chuck Berry. We tear this one up. It's on youtube.
  • "I'm Not Like Everybody Else"- The Kinks. Alan from Lucid Culture suggests that our cover was better than the original, which is preposterous. We've also covered "Dead End Street" and "Sunny Afternoon." Billy and I are real dorks about the Kinks.
  • "Gold Soundz"- Pavement. We actually played this at our first show ever. Evan even knows the whole solo.

  • Woody Allen movies- generally take place in NY, Annie Hall is the best("neurotic? i'm relatively normal for somebody raised in Brooklyn") but Manhattan has the prettiest cinematography. Radio Days is the most
  • Spike Lee movies- Crooklyn and Do The Right Thing are cinematic BK anthems shot in beautiful Ft. Green
  • Saturday Night Fever- is awesome and has all these great shots of old-school South Brooklyn
  • Cooley High- is this awesome movie nobody knows about Black teenagers in the 60s and has all this great soul music.
  • Keeping The Faith- is this corny movie I love about a priest and a rabbi but is beautifully shot and, strangely, I find myself attracted to the woman who played Dharma
  • Finding Forrester- this is the funniest a...
