DONE

  • Women in Love, D.H. Lawrence ✦✦✦✦✧

Found the dialogues unnatural and the mixed feelings quite offputting. The discussions of death and existentialism are great, however. Many quotes saved.

  • Watership Down ✦✦✦✦✧

Pretty engaging, insightful for a children's book. I would say that it is more suitable for teenagers, even though the subject (rabbit life) might seem too tame. I didn't like the El-Ahrairah tales very much, too kiddy, but overall the story is, again, rich in topics quite adult. Some clever remarks and funny moments, too.

  • The Complete Works of E. A. Poe

Of which I have read so far:

    • The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether
    • The Pit and the Pendulum
    • The Tell-Tale Heart
    • The Gold-bug
    • The Black Cat
    • The Spectacles
    • The Premature Burial
    • The Cask of Amontillado
  • A Canticle for Leibowitz ✦✦✦✦✧

Very engaging!! The much appreciated topics are all here: the end of humanity as it is, its self-destructive tendency, the ways of preserving knowledge and skills. The middle part was not very memorable, I will admit. But damn I love brother Francis, I was devastated. A great read! Will re-read some time later.
