• Who did you spend Christmas with this year? My family.
  • Where did you celebrate? First at my grandparents house, then my house.
  • Were you displeased with any of your gifts? If so, what and why? No, all of my gifts were great. My least favorite was maybe the bangles that my grandmother gave me, which were kind of cheap.
  • Did you receive anything really unexpected? My Dad gave me tickets to see Demetri Martin.
  • What did your Christmas meal consist of? On Christmas Eve we had a kind of progressive dinner as we drove home. First we had banana peppers and some entrees for lunch at Ramseys. Then we stopped at Mimi's and had corn chowder and bread. Then we arrived home, and after church service we watched "Elf" and had hors d'oeuvres: vegetable bird nests, pigs n' blankets, vegetables and dip, and crescent rolls. On Christmas day, we had a nice breakfast of bacon and eggs and Mrs. Schubert's rolls. Then we had a late lunch. Dad drove from Lakewood and brought turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. Mom made marshmallow sweet potatoes, green beans with shallots, cranberry sauce, and more Mrs. Schubert's rolls. It was pretty delicious. Finally, we had some candy and popcorn when we went to see "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol." Altogether it was a very satisfying holiday, meal-wise.
  • Do you wish you could have spent it with anyone else? No! I love my family.
  • Was everyone satisfied with everything you gave them? Yes, I did good this year.
  • Were any of your gifts money? Not money, but I did get gift cards which is basically the same thing. I got some for Amazon, iTunes, the mall, Sephora, and Mitchell's.
  • Do you actually enjoy Christmas, or do you think it is just a holiday that forces you to spend time with family and spend your money on pointless gifts? I LOVE Christmas! But then again, I was born the day after it and love the whole month of December. I feel like I would hate Christmas if I had a bad family, though.
  • Do you celebrate it for religion reasons, or purely for getting together with your family? We celebrate it for both religious and familial reasons. For example, we always go to church on Christmas Eve and usually have a "birthday cake" for Jesus.
  • Do you believe that Christmas loses its appeal the older you get? Probably a bit during the transition, but I feel like as long as you have someone to buy gifts for and spend the holiday season with, Christmas is always a happy holiday.
  • What were the holidays like when you were a kid? A bit more fun, because when you're little you get a bunch of toys and are more excited about things, but most of our traditions have remained. One that has faded is that we used to go out on Christmas Eve and sip hot cocoa and look at the lights.
  • Has your family already taken down the tree/decorations? No. They'll stay up until sometime after New Year's.
  • Have you ever spent Christmas someplace other than with your family? No.
  • Would you rather just receive nothing but money as presents so that you could pick out your own gifts? No. Gifts are so much more personal. Although some gift cards are nice. The best is when someone gives you something personal and a $15-20 gift card. Plain money is SO impersonal.
  • Do you get bothered by Christmas music playing directly after Thanksgiving? I feel like its a bit too soon, but we put up our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I guess it fits the season. Anything that happens before Thanksgiving is tacky, though.
  • What do you consider your favorite Christmas song? Um, I don't know the name of it, but it's by Amy Grant and me and my Mom used to sing it and dance together.
  • Did you watch any Christmas-related movies or shows? Yeah, we watched "Elf," the end of "Home Alone," watched the Christmas episodes of SNL and all the other TV shows we watch regularly, and I watched "A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas."
  • Do you get hyped up about Christmas, or is it not a big deal for you? I don't "hyped up" but I am excited when it arrives.
  • Are there any gifts you got that you had to exchange/return? I will probably have to exchange the "Midnight in Paris" dvd for one in Bluray like I wanted, but besides that everything was good.
  • Do you wear any festive clothing around Christmas time, or do you not care to dress up? I like to wear skirts a lot, and scarfs. I don't really have any tacky holiday jewelry or sweaters, but I have a red one that I wore on the last day of school before winter break.
  • Would you ever take up a seasonal job as Santa/one of his elves at the mall? Maybe! It might be fun.
  • How do you usually spend Christmas Eve? Going to church, having hors d'oeuvres, listening to Christmas songs or watching a Christmas related movie.
  • Are you sad now that it has come and passed? A little bit.
