• david yates was an abysmal director.
  • there was absolutely no need to include any of those panoramic shots of the scenery and surroundings of the characters. yes, they're beautiful, but they take up time and make the movie boring. this ain't some academy award shit. it's not about the corridors. it's not about the mountains. it's about the characters. how about focusing on them?
  • chris colombus could direct this shit out of a paper bag.
• the terrible trio dynamic
  • thanks to steve kloves, the trio has been made into "HARRY AND HERMIONE ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER. btw, here's ron."
  • giving hermione ron's best lines? inserting her into scenes she wasn't in so she can grab harry's hand? shunting ron off into the background so we can concentrate on the glory that is harry and hermione? stop just stop
• daniel and bonnie have absolutely no chemistry.
  • it wasn't necessarily bonnie's fault - (i've heard) she's a wonderful actress. perhaps it's just the way her part was written - she didn't have a chance to show what the real ginny is like.
  • regardless, they've ruined the harry/ginny ship for many. i cringe every time they're on screen together.
• michael gambon as dumbledore.

  • after the third (maybe the fourth) movie, i can't remember many instances when we see the students in actual hogwarts uniform. last i checked, the title of the movie wasn't 'hipster wizards' okAY
• their hair in the fifth movie.
