- Meats are high in phosphorus, bones are high in calcium. When meat is fed with 10% bone you have the exact ratios of calcium to phosphorus required by a dog. Whole prey, fish, eggs and tripe have a balanced ratio.
- raw diet that includes 30-50% RMB will supply the proper amount of calcium; there is no need to add more.
nov 6 2013 ∞ nov 6 2013 +
- remove skin from poultry, cut off separable fat, and stick to parts that are not overly fatty
- white and crumbly stool + strain to eliminate = reduce bone
- My idea of balance over time is to load the freezers once a month with a good variety of meat (80%), edible bone (10%) and organ meat (10%) and, when the freezer is empty, I know they've gotten a variety or "balance" over time
