- LA: at 1am I thought a giant hornet was flying around the livingroom and spent an hour looking for it, waking up Adam. it turned out to be a harmless june bug.
- Michigan: stung by a hornet on a hike for no apparent reason.
- Agra, India: I woke up in a pile of dead mosquitoes that traveled through the swamp cooler.
- New Orleans: when I came flying out of the bathroom at the swamp tour because a huge flying insect was in there with me. I came out to a laughing audience.
- Costa Rica: the spider in the toilet paper holder at the research station and the giant one that almost landed on Adam's head.
- Yelapa, Mexico: the giant insect we found on my towel.
- When I dove into a pool with my clothes on from a flying bee in high school.
- When we found a crazy looking prehistoric insect at our house at 65th street.
- When I was stung by a bee in the library when I was a substitute teacher.
- The ant infestation at our house on 65th street.
- New York: When I saw a cockroach land on a guy's shoulder while waiting for the subway train and I froze.
- Adam showing me the giant insect beast that lives in the middle east on the internet.
- When walking the dog at dusk and almost walking through an enormous web hosted by a giant orange spider the size of my palm.
- When there was a bee trapped in a car with me and Adam and I took off running while the car was at a red light.
- India: the biggest spider I have ever seen in the bathroom toilet with me in South India...that crawled out right after I peed...I went into shock.
- When Adam calmly looked at me, told me to close my eyes, and then swatted away a big cockroach on my shoulder while picnicking at a park in Palm Springs, and then didn't tell me because he knew I'd be too traumatized (he told me later).
- When my dog Toki's face swelled up because he was bit by some crazy spider at the High Tower house.
