• returned home where people are crowded in the streets for a film festival about bikes. i can hear the bikers chanting from the window where i type. they sound like they are having fun.
• came home and had sex to steely dan's first album.
• matt swings by and he and adam go play chess at our local pub.
• i do the dishes and work on homework.
• laura calls and we get to catch up.
• seeing "away from her" film at the sunshine theater across the street. a film about an old couple who face alzheimer's.
• came home and listened to nina simone and thought about the day we'd let each other go.

• i survived adam trying to kill me. he left the gas on after he made lunch and had to leave for a meeting. i felt a little out of it and then realized. he was so bummed!
• adam and i spoke at career day at the high school i work at. it was fun.
• josie is trying hard in school and i worked with her on homework assignments that made her feel really good about herself. i love moments in my job where i feel like i've really just helped someone out...like an english teacher super hero.
• i finished my first on-line course in special education.
• adam accepted a great job offer and he gets to work from home still! and we have health insurance again!
• we sold our oakland home...almost 75% complete in the process now.
• spring is here in new york and it's wonderful.

• humid day, but a great oppressive feeling in the air that a storm is coming
• school party for the kids in our program. we show a slide show of the year, feed them, show a movie of the past 5 years, baby photo contest, and we feed them. all were happy.
• staff party after at cronkite. *super* time. we all talked about sexually related things most of the evening. it was fun.
• thunder lightening walking home with jim, his gal, and noa. light drizzle in completely warm weather. felt amazing. people everywhere with little clothing on in the rain and damp hair. very sweet.
• stayed up with adam talking about the break down of our education system and how it's failing some of the kids i work with.
• woke up in the morning and adam and i went to see Sicko, michael moore's new film. i cried throughout the whole film. moore is an angel, even with his faults.

• salesman on the street selling awesome shoes for cheap (fell off a truck story)
• beethoven's 5th performed in central park by the new york phil harmonic
• fireworks over manhattan for no particuluar reason other than new yorkers love fireworks
• thunder and lightening storm followed by huge rain storm
• walking with adam's arm around me in a rain storm barefoot from the subway train
• getting out of wet clothes and eating a cupcake while watching discovery channel

• for the first time in my life i have insomnia and took my first sleeping pills
• this weekend Listography, The Book will be at the national gift convention for vendors to see
• i nursed one of my kids through a self destructive alcohol binge at an amusement park for 4 hours
• dating
• i've been watching Entourage and love E's character
• at 11:30pm the cops were banging on my apartment door saying that a burglar had climbed up the fire escape, broke into and robbed the apartment above mine. kind of scary.
• new york has been hit with beautiful storms
• my life of stability has become a life of mystery
• working on the final pieces of Kids Listography with Nat...will be released August 08.

• things are a little hard right now. i know everything is going to get better. you can depend on life to work in that way, thank god. It's the terror of knowing / What the world is about / Watching some good friends / Screaming 'Let me out' / Pray tomorrow - gets me higher
• mom's possible serious heart problem to be evaluated in 3-4 months, post-chemo recovery

• future change with the place i'm living (great but change is always a little scary)

• this said, i know the best growth comes with the hardest challenges...meaning is not in "events" but in between them.

• listened to paul simon at the gym. thought about how we create our realities while keeping up with the treadmill, so in that case, it's important what music we listen to, what friends we keep. i was glad to be in the company of paul simon today.
• at work, lolo got a lip piercing. i wrote recommendations for two of our girls to get into a photography program at MOMA.
• made a giant salad at whole foods for dinner while talking to scott. my salad grew huge because of the distraction but i paid for it.
• watched a tivo'd oprah with bill clinton discussing the act of giving. i cried. of course. kiva.org was introduced. i'm going to get into this!
• went to a roof party at joe's and recorded a "confession" for a video project. i confessed that i use to make love to my stuffed animals when i was little. i was the male however.
• went to vanessa's going away gathering and met up with marc. while there, i was introduced to garrett who i met 10 years before on a greyhound bus from PA to New York. we went to dinner and lost touch after i went back to california. so weird!
• spoke with mike about his ending marriage and how he is getting through it. i wish him peace.
