6-5 new york summer weekend

• worked on a fun music video gift for richard and laughed at our silly dances
• went to dinner and a movie with adam (please give --quintessential new york movie)
• headed down to the world science festival at battery park around 10pm
• super warm summer night where you feel like you can walk around all evening
• saw a replica of the new james webb space telescope, watched kids play legos, watched all the telescope fanatics out there with their telescopes giving free tours of the stars, and received a nice lecture on the universe in a tent with a traveling high tech planetarium
• met the astronaut john grunsfeld and got a photo and an autograph with him for my mom --who always wanted to be an astronaut
• ended the night with a walk along the water viewing the statue of liberty & ellis island, seeing all the fisherman out there at midnight fishing in the hudson and girls dressed all fancy coming from a graduation party
• headed to visit cynthia in cosmetology school where she gave me a great head massage and a fun hair style (found a woman's wallet and did some work to try to return it then walked outside and another girl was crying that she lost her wallet)
• richard, james and kai came over for chatting and to watch richard's music video gift
• headed to mccarren park renegade craft fair with richard & james & adam (hot outside, the boys got iceees. lots of people out for the craft fair in the park. bought a great dress. wonderful!)
• salma comes over with maggie to play in the livingroom
• headed on a date with adam to hear charlie kaufman, giulio tononi and alan alda speak about consciousness --part of the world science festival
• headed to korea town and had a great korean feast with adam late in the night. lots of korean party-ers out and about.
• got off the train a little early to walk through mccarren park on our way home since it was so nice and warm outside
• end of night cuddling fest

• great brunch with jason and kamila at manhattan inn (met kamila and discussed jason's mongolian adventure)
• date with adam to the Fashion Institute of Technology museum exhibition on japanese fashion
• dinner at our favorite place in the east village: himalayan cafe
• litte bit of shopping and a dash down to union square for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World where we surprisingly ran into maxine and josh. we all laughed and loved the movie.
• woke up to adam making chocolate chip muffins
• headed to matt and salma's rooftop for a big brunch with friends and beautiful 80 degree new york weather
• stopped at home for a nap before heading to the Chikara underground pro-wrestling event with vince, jodi, max, josh and matt mc
• then walked along the williamsburg waterfront to meet liane at the pavement concert (where jake and maggie gyllenhaal were chillin). ate tacos in the warm night with pavement playing in one direction and the new york skyline in the other direction.
• walked home with adam and watched Mad Men, ate some ice cream, and fell asleep with the windows open to cool night air.
• ..wonderful weekend and friends and city. thank you. we noted the coincidence of seeing wrestling and scott pilgrim within 24 hours. pretty funny.
