- listening to NPR when i get ready every morning
- my walk through the east village into the lower east side for work, passing the missions, the handball players, the children in the park, the restaurants, the tour buses, the homeless guy who sits in front of american apparel, sometimes the snowflakes, the drizzle, or the warm sun.
- biko exposing her tummy for me to rub on the dining table
- making the perfect lunch with an avocado and a lemon
- making it to the gym and coming back tired and sweaty
- when i have a super film waiting for me at night from netflix
- ordering my favorite to-go foods
- feeling successful about an interaction with a kid i work with or coworker
- taking a mini nap
- checking email in pjs when i first wake up
- ripley headbutting my boob when i'm in bed
- there are days when i feel complete joy, luck and happiness and i am so conscious of it and there are days when the sadness is rich and profound. both feel intensely human and lonely at the same time.
- finding a bruise and not remembering how i got it
- eating my favorite trader joe's cluster cereal everyday for the past few years in the morning
- feeling the sheets when they're clean right before sleep
- talking on the phone with a friend that i haven't talk to in a couple weeks or so
- remembering to say a prayer for forgiveness before i go to sleep
