- all the baby chicks that are everywhere with mama hen
- how the dogs act like they have somewhere to be in the morning and then lay around with the humans at the end of the day like they're done with work
- seeing a man wash his rooster in a bucket
- hearing the music every night being played across the jungle somewhere
- the boy in the scarf shop who said "can I tell you that u are beautiful to me" and I said the same to him
- riding my bike kinda far to get veg tacos and right after sitting a torrential rain hits
- riding home after at night in the light rain all cool and wet
- waking up in the garden to see kites flying in the sky somewhere in the distance and a pack of birds taking a bath
- big fail at trying to ride a scooter
- the veg root salad at kabun
- finding old ikat fabric at a dive painter's studio
- going to see the gardener perform at the neighborhood kecak trance dance ceremony

- Bali airport great - some shops and food - but also massage stops throughout
- there's a 5% service charge on bills but add 5-10% more
- VISA: on arrival for $25 and also $20 for exiting
- Tour & Donate: BAWA Animal Welfare --proof of rabies needed to work
- 20,000 rps taxi within Ubud city limits
- volunteer: Kupu Kupu for disabled kids
- bargain bargain bargain!
- buy a sarong (you'll need it for all the temple visits)
- Do not support Luwak Coffee! It imprisons small palm civet animals!

- ✔ Kuta Area: Jalan Legian for shops (+Banjar Hot Springs) (1 hour by car - near Seminyak)
- ✔ Pura Tanah Lot Temple (1 hour from Ubud on coast)
- ✔ Karangasem: The Water Palace of Tirtagangga (1.5 hrs by car western side - see Pura Kehen Temple on way - nice restaurant overlooking palace)
