Day Trips:
- Chittor Fort (2.5 hrs away)
- Jain temples are known to be the most elaborate in India, and the temple complex at Ranakpur is absolutely astonishing. Two hours northwest of Udaipur.
- Jodhpur 4.5 hrs (blue city)
- Jaipur 7 hrs (I've been before)
- Pushkar 5 hrs is a sleepy little holy town that attracts a lot of backpackers and hippie types. The priests by the bathing ghats (steps) very forceful in demanding donations. Avoid that area, and head to the Pushkar market for some great shopping instead!
- Bishnoi is a community of nature worshipers conveniently only 45 minutes or so from Jodhpur and can be covered in a day trip.
- Pali is a bit further 4 hrs from Udaipur out and needs at least an overnight stay.
