Mackinac Island Trip Sept. 2-4, 2017

Friday

• left house at ~5PM with my, mom's, and Tanner's bikes on bike rack
• arrived at Sadie's @ ~6PM
• ate supper; rottessierie chicken, cauliflour & broccoli, and dinner rolls (and a doughnut for desert)
• went to bed early-ish (~11PM)

Saturday

• woke up @6AM
• wore grey Up North shirt & black tied capris
• had breafast (bagel & blueberry cream cheese)
• left house around 9AM, used Rick's truck
• got on Star Line ferry at ~1PM
• reached island ~1:30PM
• rode bikes to hotel (Harbour View Inn; bags delivered shortly after) to drop stuff off
• rode downtown for pizza buffet inside Murray's hotel (v. good)
• shopped a very little bit
• rode around the entire island (~8.2 mi.) and saw neat shit (took from ~4-8PM)
• shopped more (bought tie dye shirt, embroidered shirt, long neck cozy, moose antler earrings, more????)
• went to Doud's Market & bought wine (lambrusco & pink moscato), half-half Twisted Tea, and Grape-A-Ritas
• mom fell off bike on the way to hotel (not hurt)
• went back to hotel (near dark), showered, and had a few drinks
• went to bed ~11:30PM

Sunday

• woke up 7AM
• wore blue tie dye shirt & plain black capris
• had continental breakfast @ hotel (Tanner sitting with his "new family")
• someone "borrowed" Sadie's bike
• went downtown & got tickets for carriage tour
• got starbucks (Iced Coconutmilk Mocha Macchiato)
• first carriage driver was normally doing garbage/maintenence, was okay
• got dropped off at Surrey Hill, shopped a bit (bought sun hat & made flat penny) & saw The Grand Hotel's stables
• got on another carriage, 2nd carraige driver was hilarious (Jared/Jarrod sp.????)
• got dropped off for a few minutes @ Arch Rock
• got back on same carriage and then dropped off at Fort Mackinac
• went around fort for ~2hr, saw awesome view of town from cannon
• new carriage brought us back to Surrey Hill (can't remember driver, maybe kinda chubby girl that rec'd Pink Pony????)
• got fourth carriage back to town (girl driver, kinda quiet)
• shopped more (got "Biked It! Liked it!" shirt)
• had supper @ Pink Pony (hot wings, kalamari, smoked whitefish dip apps. - gourmet patty melt & sweet potato fries --- pricey but good)
• shopped more?????
• got ice cream @ Sander's (blue moon)
• went back to hotel, Sadie wanted to ride up to Arch rock (hard climb up hills, ended up by The Grand Hotel and coasted downtown instead bc it was getting dark)
• came back to hotel, showered & chilled for a bit
• ~9PM Sadie, Tate, Tanner, and rode downtown (so quiet) and got pics of bridge at night
• went back to hotel & bed ~12AM

Monday

• woke up ~7:30AM
• wore grey Biked It! shirt & light grey capris
• has continental breakfast & hotel
• checked out before 11AM
• went to butterfly house near hotel (very humid inside, bought beautiful Blushing Phantom butterfly wing necklacs for ~$52)
• went back downtown & shopped (got fudge and other treats; caramel apple pie fudge & superman fudge (Murray's), salt water taffy & cashew brittle (Murdick's))
• had supper at burrito place inside Murray's hotel (quesadilla)
• headed to docks & waited for ferry
• left island @ 1:30PM on faster ferry
• got to mainland & packed up bikes & left :'(
• headed to kitch-iti-kipi (stopped at gas station for Monster bc tiiiiired)
• hung around spring & gift shop for a bit
• bought aurora borealis UP decal & made another flat penny
• drove back to Sadie's (kept our bikes bc late & rain)
• left Sadie's for home, got home ~10PM
